I know, I know, it's another boring bus thread.

I saw a sign on a bus t'other day saying that the Number 1 bus service is to be done away with (oh no! I thought) and instead the number 33 bus will go into woodseats once an hour (well that's a partial relief, I thought), but the 33 runs only twice an hour (if you're lucky) at the moment. They also said this would be changed, i.e. finally a bus in the evenings and SUndays for Meersbrook.

Anyway, it then said that they were also discontinuing the current number 2 and 702 (old number 2) routes, and a new number 1 bus will be amalgamating these all into one route. Oh the irony - finally they reinstate my only way of getting to 6th form in less than an hour and I'm leaving in a month. Dammit!

All a bit confusing if you ask me, and does anyone know if the 33s will be more frequent (they're the replacement for the old number 14 route).

PS - if i hear anyone complain about the number 20 one more time I will scream. It comes every 10 minutes for poos sake, stop moaning. And they're putting on a 20a now, in case you're too lazy to walk two minutes through from Warminster to Derbyshire Lane (pretty much the only difference in route). Blimey.

And I live in the same neighbourhood, and I am also concerned about what the hell is going with what bus goes where today ?

I'll soon have to phone SYPTE every morning to check my bus line still exists !

Slightly hypocritical 'sigmar' - you did start a thread just now on the worst bus route - surely inviting people to moan. I have a genuine reason for this. SInce the changes last July those who live near CaptainScarlet and meself have gone from the number 14 every 20 mins and every 30 mins in the evenings and Sundays, also the 49 and 49a every 15 minutes, and the 39 every hour, 8 every hour and 9 every hour,

to

Number 33 every 30 minutes, number 1 every hour, 49a ditched so service (49) reduced to every 30 minutes. Thats 5 buses an hour to town (one number 8 an hour to non-town), and nothing after 6pm or on sundays (and not all from the same bus stop either - can't just go and wait for one). Woodhouse (which nicked our number 14) apparently has over 30 buses an hour. Damn them.

I've got every bloody right to moan.

At Bradway we weren't hit so badly by the changes, but they do mean that evenings and Sundays buses depart from the Interchange instead of the City Centre.

There was no reason for that statement and no reason for the abusive sigmar14 sent me, so that user has been banned for a while.

Until New timetables arrive at the PTE this week all I can tell you is that the 33 Norton Lees section will basically be the same as now with one journey a hour extented to Jordanthorpe with an evening and Sunday service provided. Service 1 will only operate the Jordanthorpe to Hillsborough section IE no longer serving City except for a couple of journeys to replace 701/702. Service 2 is withdrawn and replaced with some extra sevice 1 journeys! Now for service 20 basically the 10 minute interval( 6 per hour) to Hemsworth is maintained however the catch is that 3 with go via Derbyshire Lane as a 20A. First know how to confuse its customers!!!! Hope this helps.

PHONE SYPTE, Dont bother! they dont know what a bus looks like !
These are the people who stick bus stops in the most stupid of places and then expect drivers to get a 39ft bus into a 2ft space.

Could anyone tell me if any buses at all go up or down Scarsdale Road, this is getting far to much for me to cope with,I have senior moments already, but recently, I haven't known if I go out, will I ever get back?

I assumed the 20A would go that way but it seems not. You will get an hourly number 33, going the route of the current number 1.

noseyrose, the No.1 isn't being doen away with it. It is having both route and tiem changes and will generally operate between Hillsborough & Jordanthorpe and will operate through to Sheffield at a small number of times.

The rest of the journey is being covered by the 33 service as you've put (info i have)

exmrbd - phone PTE about this bus stop and let them knwo the problem (if not doen already)
