Hi Repo Man - I've got a friend who's very into rotties, having owned and rescued them I'll ask which breeders she'd recommend.

Just as a side line, don't be soft with people - a good breeder will be more than happy to arrange for you to see both parents - even if the sire lives elsewhere and you should insist on this.
With so many back yard breeders breeding rottweilers for the wrong homes it's easy to come across one who's temperament would be awful.

I'd also recommend you do go with the kennel club. Pedigrees can be easily faked (and don't be taken in by DLRC registered pups - the DLRC is an organisation that does not check any of the info given so holds no relevance whatsoever) but it's much harder to do so when you register with the KC because they do checks.

Also if you are wanting to show or stud (obviously depending on how the dog turns out) you will need a KC reg'd dog.

Just a tip: Don't allow a breeder to say 'I'll send the papers on' - they don't! They should have all papers ready for you when the pup's ready.
