HeLp! I am looking into buying a second hand 3.0 litre Peugeot 406 coupe, they did a facelife around 1999 / 2000, some cars they did before then. I also know that some V and T reg ones were also done. The car was uprated to 210bph as well as other things. I have searched the internet to try and find out what else was changed or an easy way to tell the difference but with no luck. I am looking at a late S Reg one but can't tell if it's the new facelift version or not. It is important when it comes to purchase and resale value as well as the fact that they corrected the things they thought needed correcting. I believe they did something to the suspension and uprated the brakes and changed the wheels but I can't find out how to tell the difference. I thought they did stuff to the inside as well but have I have looked at 2 cars, one was T reg which the garage assused was the face lift one and an S reg which the owners did not know. I thought that the S reg was too early for the upgrade but the Dash looked the same in both!!!! ARRRGGHHHH..

If anyone has any info it would be appreciated. I might try asking peugeot if they can tell me but you know what garages are like, they don't sell it any more so probably won't care!

The face-lifted model had loads of kit to make it competitive, and all come with air-conditioning, driver and passenger airbags and anti-lock brakes. The GLX or GTX models even have standard satellite-navigation, wood panels and alloys. Executive means leather seats. Plenty of cars have optional CD autochangers, but they’re difficult to find outside the 3.0 V6.

The S plate one has Cd changer in the boot and electric leather seats and electric sun roof and climate control and automatic wipers and cruise control, auto dimming mirror, auto bloody everything but I still think it's the older model..
