my LO has just been to the doctors and we have been told she has tonsillitus and pescribed penicillin the only thing is it tastes awful and she just spits it back out and then gaggs is the away i can hide the taste i have tried putting some blackcurrent juice with it quite stong but that didnt work ive tried giving it her with the syringe and just holding her to get it in her system but she is still having non of it. :help:

If shes old enough i'd bribe her with something nice if she takes it, if shes still a baby i find lying them down to give it to them means a little more goes in. hope this helps

There's a technique called the bucal injection or similar, using the syringe containing the medicine.
You gently pinch the cheek and pull it out slightly and carefully slide the syringe down the side the cheek and release the fluid. This means the medicine goes directly to the back of the mouth and bypasses the tongue and most of the taste buds.
Wash down with milk or juice :)
It's a technique used for special needs medicine administration.

If its the orange liquid then it is foul! Mini sav had it once and no matter what it made her want to be sick everytime.i couldnt disguise it.
in the end i went back to the doctors for another type and they prescribed something else.

I tried the method Zebra has posted but couldnt quite master it.

it is a red colour and it does taste fol will try that method in abit zebra thank you will let you all know how i get on.

Hi, I have had this problem. Babybell usually loves taking medicine bt she had some really horrible stuff last time. I couldn't quite master the syringe technique so I ended up having to ring the Dr's for some different medicine. You could try that if all else fails.

This is not an approved method medically but mix it with jam or honey spoon it in. A lot depends on age at 15 I find bribing with money hepls............... I means years .
