I have seen today a man taking paper work out of wheely bins on ecclesall road, we have also seen the same man eying up a house when a burgular alarm went of the other week in the exact same area.

I am really worried that he must be hanging around this area and doing this quite alot, we rung the police today but obviously dont know whats happened.

I just wanted to know if anyone else had seen this man?

I hate the thought of that man walking away with peoples details, and possibly my own.

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Do you shred your stuff before chucking it out ?

Can you get a photo of him next time he's around, and email it to the Eccy Rd locals on here who may want it?

That is within the forum rules I suppose.

I dont personally throw my paper work in the bin. I keep mine in a file, so its not a huge problem for me, its just the point that he shouldn't be getting away with it

If anyone wants a description, pm me and I can give a pretty accurate description of him

Don't worry , Claire 2 , it's obviously someone from Sheffield City Council , trying to trace important papers that they've slung out , by mistake .

I watch a program the other day and people search bins to find bank details and things so that they can do fraud so the best thing to do is catch him in the act and send pic to the police

You should all get a paper shreader they cost around £10 could save you your bank balance !

My in-laws live in Eccy road area will give them a call (not now it is a bit late for them:rolleyes: but tomorrow)!! hee hee

They are retired so are ideal curtain twitchers to look out for this man!!!!!!!!!! Though doubt they could tackle him...but as ex school teachers I would expect a good standard of handwriting and therefore would expect an accurate discription from them were they unlucky/lucky to encounter him!!

If i were in Claire's position i too would feel very uneasy... So i dont think what you have posted above was the slightest bit funny!

This kinda thing has been on the news several times... people are out to steal other people's identities...

Its pretty scary stuff...

photo or video him.

I witnessed a dodgy lurker a few years ago near a neighbour's house. It wasn't clear from my vantage point what he was upto so I video'd him then phoned the bobbies.

He was caught polishing his trumpet outside a single mum's ground floor flat... :gag:

OR PUT A NOTE IN THE TOP OF YOUR BIN STATING
"YOU ARE BEING FILMED BY SOUTH YORKS POLICE"

:hihi: :hihi:

Sounds very suspect behaviour to me. If he is looking through other people's bins then I think I would challenge him and ask him what he is looking for.

i rip all paperwork up into reasonably small bits when i chuck em out.....a few minutes work instead of maybe months of trying to get your identity back

Thanks for all your advice, just thought i would make people aware of it if they also live on eccy road.
