Now I just want to go home and get the tiddler settled in his(/her) new home :)

In case you were wondering, it's a baby spider....
Brachypelma bohemei

Now I need ideas for names please ;)
Must be some sort of mythological character/god. Eg. previous names for critters have included:
Morpheus, Zeus, Damocles, Cerberus.... you get the idea :)

Bracheus eh?
Can't seem to find much on the background of the name, any ideas?
Fits with the spp name, maybe they have similar meanings.

Hades would work well with Cerberus, that's what my other current spid is called...

I read a lot of fantasy type novels and it pops up from time to time. I am not totally sure where it originates.

If you google it, it is given as the name of a king of Geulia and Galicia in ancient times.

Aww :(
It's only tiny. Really is quite cute in an 8-legged, eight-eyed, furry sort of way. :hihi:

I know lots of ladies don't like them, thanfully mine puts up with them though

Awww! it's a little ginger person :)

Janus is a nice name for a big spinder ... He's the Guardian of the Gate of the Year and looks both forward and back. January is named after him.

edit: Here's a bit more about him from Wikipaedia ... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Janus_(mythology)

How about Bacchus, god of wine. His divine mission was to free people from care or worry.

He looks very cute. I am an huge spider lover. I never throw them out of the window, they are called HOUSE spiders for a reason. And they eat flys. Nuff said.

Sheelob (from LOTR). It's not mythological, but it was a spider.
