Unfortunately some pondlife just can't leave anything alone. Lets hope whoever took it decides to try to kick out a panel of a concrete fence next.

Someone stole Kurt Cobain's ashes not so long ago too. Not only is it sad that people would do such a thing, but it also shows the disturbing way in which people hold celebrities up, especially dead ones, as effigies.

Yes, but Penny Lane is just a bit of council property. Ian Curtis's gravestone is a family memorial. There's a difference.
