huh? why would you want to upgrade from that?

do you actually have any need for a quad or a second 8800gt or are you just being sucked in by the spiel ?

Ususally, more than 3 changes means it's MUCH better to buy new.
I agree with you....if it's not new equipment then it's redundant equipment. Why pay good money to upgrade the obolete?

Seriously, you will get next to no performance gains upgrading your CPU, native support for quad core is pretty low, and if you did get one you'd want a 45nm quad core with at least 12mb cache and a FSB >= 1333mhz to notice any difference, and then you'd be silly to run that without at least 4GB of 1000mhz + DDR RAM , and you'd have to use one of the latest MoBo chipsets to do that setup any justice at all.
How deep are your pockets?

Just buy a new case ;)

I heard the 9 series geforce to nvidia is what netburst was to intel.

and whats that. so theres no point in buying a quad core and another graphics card.

i cant see why not upgrading to quad core wouldnt be worth it hense thats why all the gaming pc's have the q6600 and come with the 9800gtx's

A jump from the newer 8800GTs (G92 core) to the 9800 GTXs isnt goint to be a massive difference. But since the prices are coming down on the 9800 GTXs i would get your 8800GT sold and then get a 9800 GTX when the price comes down. Thats what i did with my 8800 GTS (still waiting for the price of the 9800 GTXs to come down here mind)

I personaly dont think its worth the jump just yet. I only have a E2180 but it overclocks really well and does everything I need it to. May get the E7200 for the 45nm technology and more cache but not in any rush. Stick with what you got or have a look 4870s if you want more out your graphics. Also in SLI you only get about 50% increase from another card so it would be better to spend the budget of 2 cards on one really good one.
