Well, my son is 7 months old and there must have been about a week in his entire life where i have been able to settle him. He cries when i feed him, when i don't feed him, when i pich him up, when i put him down...basically most of everyday.
He's always been a sicky baby and he's always been a very light sleeper and not slept for very long either (about an hour in the daytime, and still not sleeping through at night), plus he always seems to have a stuffy nose. Anyhow we've just had a really good week with him which is rare and today he's back to his old self which has made me realise just how bad he is...I was at the end of my tether today and had 5 mins to myself while he slept and found this
http://www.cranial.org.uk/page3.html

I read it and it made me cry, I think I must have just been relived to have found something which mmay make things a little better and the description of wht it may cure was just SO accurate.
Well, I called a osteopath and we're going on friday, I was told be the receptionist that the sucess rate is extremely high:D...I'm really looking forward to it.
Has anybody out there been to a cranial osteopath for their little one??
Please share!!:D
Anna

Both my children(one is 3yrs and the other 10mnths) have seen a cranial osteopath and I can't praise him enough. My son had about 5 sessions and my daughter only 2.

What is amazing was that he just felt both of them and was able to say what difficulties ther had been during delivery and both times he was correct and I hadn't even mentioned it. The first time I took my son he was quite fretful after the session but slept soundly that night and after each of the sessions he became more and more relaxed

My osteopath is called Chris Johnson who specialises in treating babies and children. I realise you have an appointment already but please take a look at his website as I am sure you will find it very interestinghttp://www.theosteopathicpractice.com

I hope all goes well for you

My baby has seen Chris too, i can't recommend him enough he's brilliant. My baby only had to see him 3 times each time i took him home he was just so chilled out. Its worth a try.

As far as i know Chris also works in the Manchester childrens osteopathic practice and has loads of experience with children. He has a lovely calm manner. As the above post said i know you have someone already but its worth a look.

Thank you, I'm looking forward to going because at the moment this is the only light at the end of the tunnel. Was there a vast improvement in both your children and did it last?

My chiropractor does Cranial Osteopathy, and has had great success, with babies suffering from wind.

Sorry, I should have said colic, which is the same thing but can go on for three months or longer.

My son doesn't really suffer from colic just restlesness and constant crying and a poor sleeping pattern during the day...but I'm still going to try it I don't think I've got anything to lose. I haven't heard any bad feedback about cranial oseopathy either.

There was definitly an improvement and it has lasted, although it's not unknown for a baby to be treated when they are bit older as depending on what they were treated for the complaint can sometimes return

My son was 5 months when he went, we had a few problems him, mainly that as soon as we put him in his car seat from the time he was newborn he would go beserk and scream the place down. He never settled in the car and we couldn't figure out what was wrong after the first session he slept in his car seat home and we never had that problem again.

He also was a very poor sleeper and i have to say we didn't see a huge improvement in this but Chris was very honest with us and said a lot of his behaviour may have been his personality, he has gradually got a little better(through our own hard work) but i noticed loads of changes in him after the therapy.
