Google have done some great special logo's in the past for previous events. Often the creativity used is very good. Try here to see them all.

Haven't you figured it out yet? It's like this:

Leonardo was born on 15th April in 1452 and died in 1519.

It is also 500 years since the painting of the Mona Lisa which was believed to have been painted between 1503 & 1505.

One of the Renaissance's greatest artists and thinkers, Leonardo da Vinci was born in Florence, Italy on the 15th of Aprill 1452. In addition to painting the Moss Lisa and the last Supper he designed the first parachute.

Well my learned friend

Today is the anniversary of his birth for those who are pedantic enough to nay-say the idea of a 'birthday'. Today is also often used as a festival for the creative arts and creative mind, in recognition of the ability to think beyond what you see around you.

By the way did you know that high tech x-rays have shown that there are three different versions of the mona-lisa underneath the one that we actually see.
