 Decided to go for a walk on the Five Weirs walk last night, but guess what - the Spider Bridge is closed again. Some theiving t****s have stolen all the stainless steel wire AGAIN.
My question is, who is stealing it, and more to the point who is buying it, surely the people that are buying it know what it is and where it has come from.
We walked round the back on to Effingham road, to the new Bailey Bridge, and all the wire has gone from there as well, they have kept it open tho' by putting blue rope between the uprights where the wire should have been. Don't these people realise that we the taxpayer and council tax payer are paying for this, and everytime the Council tries to make improvements this is what happens.
Mind you its not as bad as the bit in the paper today where thieves have stolen the memorial bronze bits from cenotaph in Portsmouth. Surely they can't get rid of those, someone somewhere must know where they are.

One of the memorials in Plymouth (everyone always gets them confused!) has been returned - turned in anonymously by a scrap dealer. The rest are still missing. Words fail me.
The Norfolk Park incident got me - when the plaques that schoolchildren had worked on were lifted from the bridge. Unbelievable.

Don't forget someone stole all the little brass plaques that lined the walkways at Hutcliffe Wood Crem.
As every one had a name, d.o.b and d.o.d on it, you wouldn't think it needed Sherlock Holmes to figure out there was something dodgy when they arrived at a scrap yard.
There must be dealers around who don't ask questions.

Some thieving scrotes did the same thing on the footbridge that was built across the Parkway 2 or 3 years ago.
