Anyone tried this new pub-rock night I heard about? At the SPORTSMAN on Walkley lane, Friday nights with DJ Ken and DJ Lez, thats all I know at the moment.

I go in the Sportsman every now & again for a quiet beer by a nice open fire- not to hear loads of dodgy old rock - please make it stop..

Not been yet so have no idea whats happening. New manager in now apparently, bit of an old rocker I have heard. Walkleys answer to the CRB perhaps?

Didnt know it had a reputation? For what? Last time I went there was 10 years ago and it was full of old dears playing dominoes and some bloke banging out a tune on a Hammond organ!!!!!

Didnt realise the Sportman had a reputation - its always just been a quiet local whenever I've been in.

Same here ....they only danger anyone could be in at the Sportsman is dying of boredom.

Apart from when they have the conker tournament. :D

Strangely enough a couple of mates popped in last night for a beer to the Sportsman - they said there seemed to be an 80s karioke night going on - and quite a lot of 80s haircuts - but not much metal..

OH........so much for the supposed rock night...........glad I didnt go now then
