It's a cheaper full frame camera than the D3.

Good to see another full frame DSLR, a bit of competition will be good for all, but especially Canon and the 5D
Here's hoping it'll persuade Canon to move along a bit quicker. Competition is always a good thing. QuarkXpress had to really pull their finger out after InDesign appeared and their monopoly was quickly demolished.
If I was starting from scratch I'd now have a decent choice, whereas a few years back, Canon were sadly the only choice, if you wanted full frame/liked wideangles/used high ISOs. I'm sure some may even be tempted back to Nikon.

In the days of film we could choose from a vast range of camera / lens manufacturers, sadly Canon and Nikon are the only to 35mm manufacturers to have moved fairly seamlessly to digital.
Sadly Olympus, Pentax, Yashica, Contax, Minolta, Zenit, Ricoh etc. all got left behind :(
In the past I was lucky enough at different times to own both a Pentax ME Super and an Olympus OM4, we will never see the like of those cameras again, shame similar models with the same lenses are not available as DSLRs today.
OM4 still has the most advanced metering of any camera I've ever owned and the design is 25 years old. Shame on all cameras since.
Plus it was tiny and still had a massive viewfinder, way bigger than on a 5D and probably bests a 1DsIII as well. Even more shame on manufacturers.
