Would be nice if there was a dedicated general Ask an Expert forum for these types of questions eh Natane.

Might increase the likelyhood of getting seen by the right people ;)

Having done a review, lots of the threads could easily be considered general chat. There were too many times where one thread was left in general chat (for example "Who holds the current world water speed record?") which you could argue would need an 'expert' to know. Other topics, like "Wedding dress shops in Sheffield?", were being posted in Ask an Expert when they would have been better in General Sheffield Chat. Also, on top of this, around 90% of all topics in Ask an Expert were computer/tech related.

Look, if we have a lot of threads around a certain topic, like buying homes abroad, then we'll create a dedicated forum (like we have now done with Computer/tech) but in the meantime try and cope with it and use the contact us page for feedback - not someone else's thread.

PS. There are dedicated forums out there for such things as discussing holiday homes (or 100s of other specific topics). We try our best, but this is primarily a forum for discussing Sheffield. If someone gets no help in our General Chat (not like you gave them much chance!) then they would be best finding one of these other forums. Moving this to Ask an Expert wouldn't magically attract experts in holiday homes to join SF...

Florida - lots of golf courses and dedicated holiday housing.

You might want to give more details about where, budget, etc...

How do you feel about Palm Springs, California?

It's hot. Year round, trust me. Loads of golf courses, and there's quite a few smaller desert cities nearby whose real estate is far less expensive. I've vacationed in Indian Wells before, and it was nice, if a bit expensive.

Maybe Las Vegas, Phoenix, or San Diego? Although the weather is quite a bit cooler in San Diego.

Good luck!
