View Full Version : Ladies, Do You Like To Go Fishing?
Jabberwocky 30-06-2008, 12:36 WELL?!?
DO YA?!?
Ive only been fishing two or three times, the last time was about a year ago, and Im not sure if I enjoyed it. Ok, the outing was good, the company was great and it was nice to catch a fish I suppose, but.. it made a noise as I took the hook out of it and it sounded as if Id hurt it so... that put me off and I havent been since.
One of the lads I went with called me a tart because I was worried about the little fishy-wishy, and informed me that his missus wasnt squeamish and easily pulled out the hook without being a "Creepy little nancy boy like you, you Yorkshire poof" as he so nicely put it.
Anyway, dont worry about him, I got him back by eating all his groundbait.
heh. Serves him right for putting sweetcorn in with the mixture.
Anyway, ladies... fishing.. do you?
I really want to go, my little love monkey keeps promising to take me and nothing ever comes of it.
He's just worried I'll be better at it than him.
Jabberwocky 30-06-2008, 12:50 Its a good day out for a couple but I can imagine it being annoying for the expert to have to keep stopping what hes doing to tie and bait hooks and untangle lines of the amateur.
I suppose that once the amateur of the pair get the hang of it all then... yeah, I bet it would be a good day out. It take my OH, but shes been sifhing for years with her dad so she`d be the expert while Id be the amateur...amd we cant be having that, can we? :D

But what about sitting on a seat in the sunshine, eating sarnies while others did the fishing? Would you do that?
gal-tray 30-06-2008, 13:18 no i dont think i would, i really cant stand the sight of fish and then to see it wriggling on the river bank or where ever they fall no not for me i'm afraid its turning my stomach just thinking about it
AJ sheffield 30-06-2008, 13:21 I hate fishing but used to love going with my dad, i would be off exploring on my own as soon as we got out of the car. The best fishing trip was to the Dam Flask when I set an air bomb repeater off at 5:30am one summers morning, you should have seen the complaints I got.

how about a spot of fox hunting then?
foxforcefive 30-06-2008, 13:22 I've been fishing a few times and absolutely loved it, sea fishing mind, where you take home and cook what you catch, you know making it a worthwhile event.
Just fishing and then throwing the catch back in.??? What is the point? No, really, WHAT IS THE POINT?????
Dave Brent 30-06-2008, 13:23 Ladies fishing? Most of 'em only fish for compliments don't they? :hihi:
Dave
I'd go fishing if I could take the fish home and eat it, but since I can't hold a fishing rod it's much safer for all concerned that I stay at home and just visit a fishmonger when I'd like some fish to eat.

Youd have a right job getting a hook out of a foxes gob!
Suffragette1 30-06-2008, 13:26 I've never tried it. I can't decide whether it would appeal or not.

What sort of fox are we talking about here? :suspect:

It would be easy after you shot it through the head.

Can you do that in Britain? I thought it was illegal to take the fish home.
I always wanted to try catching one, killing and preparing it and making a fire on the bank and cooking it there- I saw a bloke on telly do that once and it looked brilliant.
_Kirsty_ 30-06-2008, 14:11 Yeah!! I love fishing! Went to scotland the other week to see my grandparents and they took us fishing from a pier. I caught a flounder!!
I use to go fishing every week in Long Island Sound when we had our own boat, only to find out it was like throwing money into a black hole, got rid of that fast, but i wouldn't want to do it now unless it was deep sea fishing, nothing like it.
pattricia 30-06-2008, 15:38 Yes, Ive been fishing a lot, and have still got my own rod. I once caught an 11lb salmon. Too expensive to salmon fish now though!! Also been fly fishing and sea fishing. Fresh Mackerel is great!.:)
I've been fishing a few times. Once, freezing and soaking wet in the rain. I think it is boring but it is quite fun actually catching a fish. I have the most hilarious photo of me in this massive horrible green waterproof jacket with my hood up and some little Tench in my hands. The last time I went I even plucked up the courage to put a few maggots on. It's horrible!
