View Full Version : Internet Cafés in Sheffield Lickszz 12-10-2003, 10:10 Can anyone tell me where in Sheffield there is an Internet Cafe. I'd prefer city centre. And how much to they charge roughly. mr craig 12-10-2003, 10:37 Theres a cafe on Orange St,just off West St called the Frag Cafe, its an on-line gaming cafe,so i'd assume they would also do internet browsing there as well.It seems to b e pretty popular,i see people going in there all the time. There used to be one on Division St called Havana,on the corner across from Yates dont know if thats still there though. You could always try the Matrix Bar,they've got a pretty good set-up and a really fast connection. alchresearch 12-10-2003, 11:12 Is there anywhere which offers a free legal wireless connection? Kry10 12-10-2003, 12:32 Havanna IS still there, and if whoever is in control of this group, would they please delete that thread that I made, which should have been a reply instead of a new thread, doh. Anyways, Havanna is a nice place, reasonable prices and friendly staff, just on division street, down the road from the Forum shopping precinct. Fletch 12-10-2003, 18:30 there's one in Broomhill thats about 5 mins buy bus from town centre dont know how much it charges but its a nice place and does good hot chocolates. Fletch E-Man Groovin 12-10-2003, 18:53 I'll second what was said above about Havana. It's a great internet cafe, and they do fantastic breakfasts. I'd go as far as to say that they do the best breakfasts in Sheffield. Z-Man Lickszz 12-10-2003, 22:23 Ok, thanks all. This Havana place sounds like just the job. mikey 13-10-2003, 09:53 You could always go to your local library, most have half a dozen internet PC's and its all free. No cooked breakfasts though, and I guess no looking at dodgy sites. Agent Dan 13-10-2003, 10:52 Frag cafe is good quality, but mainly for gaming, so high spec computers and screaming teens abound!!! 1Man&hisBMW 13-10-2003, 17:26 Originally posted by alchresearch Is there anywhere which offers a free legal wireless connection? Yes, Burngreave has a wireless broadband connection called BITPART (Burngreave IT Partnership). Its easy, you can come here, buy your drugs (on the way up from Wicker Chemist of Course!) tsk tsk!, have a curry and do your work at the same time! Ahh the benefits of Burngreave :) 1Man&HisBMW SheffieldSean 13-10-2003, 18:53 Whilst not a cafe the BBC studios on Shoreham Street have internet PC's to use free of charge. And cos it's the Beeb, you might get on the telly if you're lucky... probably Crimewatch though, lol. Caronp 09-08-2004, 17:32 Does any one know of a good internet cafe in Sheffield ? Does any one use one? Tony 09-08-2004, 17:40 The only proper one was Havana on Division St. Recently closed down though :( Bar Matrix on Charter Sq may be your best bet. MuteWitness 09-08-2004, 17:45 theres a few on spital hill, if you fancy it! nomme 09-08-2004, 18:17 There's one in Broomhill I believe. I think it's called 'Refresh'. I also believe you can get free access at Radio Sheffield down near the Leadmill but I'm not sure about that. Perhaps someone 'in the know' would confirm. Nomme Dan_F 09-08-2004, 18:39 You can get free internet access at The Drum community media centre. You just need to fill an application for free membership and you can get access any time between 10am-6pm Monday-Friday. It is based in the former National Centre for Popular Music. Approach the double doors opposite Sound Control music store on Paternoster Row and ring the bell. You will be buzzed in. See you there! Lickszz 09-08-2004, 21:05 Threads merged.
