Hello to everyone. I was wondering if anyone had more information on intestinal parasites?? I was told that we have worms living in our intestines and was wondering if anyone had ever had such an experience as to see one ( a worm what).

Yuk.....what an awful subject....I have seen threadworms on my kids 'stools' from time to time and the whole family have been treated as the eggs can easily be passed from person to person!!

well when you die its the parasites in your intestines that eat your flesh, but they shouldnt be a problem before you die lots of water is ment to help

they get into your body from the stuff you eat and drink...some are microscopic

There's been interest recently in using some parasitic worms therapeutically, so they're not all bad!

There are drugs that will knock 'em dead. Have you tried Googling for the subject? I'm sure you'll find a few gruesome piccies there... ;)

Never experienced them myself but having cats means I go through the regular ritual of 'the worming tablets'. Again, though, I tend not to study the droppings of my fur-family in great detail....:)

There was a programme on telly not long ago. A man purposely grew a tape worm by eating meat not cooked properly to see how long it could grow. :gag:

They then filmed him going to the lav and passing it. He then layed it out on his lawn. It was huge. Fascinating programme.

That's almost certainly not true. In fact, because they rely on body temperature to live, I'm told that intestinal parasites are often seen leaving a dead body through the nearest orifice - including the eyes, ears and mouth :gag:
