View Full Version : Just wanted to brag...
mbunting 29-06-2008, 13:39 Here goes,
Rachel has always slept in a moses basket and now at 17 weeks we thought it best to move her to her cot. We were waking up in the morning and finding that she had shuffled to the top of the basket !!
I was expecting tears and tantrums etc last night when we put her to bed in the cot for the first time but, nothing !! No crying no screaming nothing.
Now I really hope that I am not showing off too soon but I am amazed...... I really expected it to be more difficult. Saying that, she did sick all over the first sheet I put on.
lauren84 29-06-2008, 14:39 My little boy has been moved out of his basket a couple of weeks ago and I was told that he wouldn't feel 'secure' enough but he is absolutely fine just like your little one. He has slept through since I have transferred him to the cot.
honeyb35 29-06-2008, 16:45 ooh yay what a ggod girl!
Fantastic, sleep is just what parents need and a good night with the baby can make all the difference :)
mbunting 29-06-2008, 19:41 Yeah, just wish we could sort out her feeding now !
She takes half a bottle then screams !
Hey,Littleboo is fast asleep and it is only9.45pm he has only just gone though and he hasnt had a nap at all today.
Blimey, that really is a dancing banana moment:banana::banana::banana:
Scarlett wasn't keen on the moses basket and didn't seem to settle whenever she was in it so we put her in her cot from about 2 weeks and I think she sleeps better in it. It's much more comfortable I think and it's got the mobile for entertainment. Now we just need to figure out how to get her to sleep through!
Well done Rachel for being a good girl and on the food front, it's possible she's just not feeling the new milk. Scarlett hated her new milk until recently (she's now realised she's not getting anything else)
have you tried infacol too. liam has a blob before his feed and hes fine. but when i forget then near the end of the bottle he gets very uncomfy and screams at me.
liam sleeps through from about 8/9 til about 8/9. since about 9 weeks. hes 15 weeks now and i'm moving him out of moses basket soon into his cot in his bedroom with my daughter. fingers crossed he keeps the same sleep pattern though or i'll not know what to do being woken up!!
muckynees 30-06-2008, 10:36 I don't blame you for your little brag hun, it's a great achievement, some babies don't like change and it can make it a hell of a lot of work for us mummies!
I was also worried about moving Tayla to a cot but I moved her when she was about 4 weeks old and luckily she is like her older brother and sis, she could sleep standing on her head if she wanted! I still have the moses basket downstairs but in all honesty she prefers to sleep in her swing during the day.
I couldn't resist posting a couple of recent pics of her sorry

mbunting 30-06-2008, 11:30 Oh muckynees, she is beautiful !!
I have just had Rachel weighed and she has lost half an ounce !! I just do not know what to do (I think I will be grey before my next birthday).
She is taking about half of her feed then just screaming, she doesn't seem to have wind because she brings nothing up and if I have her in anything but the feeding position she stops screaming ??
She loves the infatrini, which is the new milk, because it is sweeter. I thought at first she was just being awkward with the old milk she still has but it is both kinds of feed now.
Health visitor is going to talk to the dietician this afternoon and refer me if necessary.
honeyb35 30-06-2008, 11:40 why is she on infatrini mbunting? Just being nosy lol. my son was on that, i thought it stunk awful!
mbunting 30-06-2008, 11:49 She is not putting weight on and they think that the heart murmur she has is causing her to use up the calories she is taking just to feed. My turn to be nosy now, why was your son on it ?

Hope you get baby rachel sorted hun, Tayla was a little bit like that whe she was about two weeks old so I started her on Infacol (wonderful invention) and she has been fabulous since, she would only fall asleep while in the winding position but she's totally different now!
*Peaches* 02-07-2008, 11:51 My little peach won't sleep in his moses basket, screams the place down! Only place he will sleep is in his chair but with it laid right back. I will give him credit where its due though, he's sleeping 7 hours a night
lauren84 02-07-2008, 13:08 A bit off subject but I have managed to give the living room a PROPER clean today - meaning I have managed to take down the curtains and wash them, wash the cushions and throws. They are all on the line!!! :)
