Well it is 36 years since he did the Match Of The Day commentary on Hereford v Newcastle, so it shouldn't be that surprising really ...

I'm getting to the point where I can hardly bear to listen to sport on Radio 5. Over the last couple of years it has gone very tabloid with it's reporting and Alan Green is doing my nut in.

There is no one anywhere nearly as good as Motty.
he does his homework and gives interesting facts and insights.
The other clowns on bbc Radio 5 just talk a load of tripe.
They give too much of their own opinion, and fail to comment on what is actually happenning.
I hate it when one says ' did you see that, he should watch what he is doing, .
Well no we didn't see it, it is on the radio, it is their job to describe; useless pair.
