Just got some matrix posters.

Did you have any posters on your bedroom wall when you were a teenager?

Who\What did you have?

There is not time enough to tell you, I would do better to scan in a photo of my bedroom wall some 22 years ago and post it up, only I dont know how to....

But let me just say this...

This..

No, really, from the age of about 11 I used to pull out the centre-fold of Jackie, which was a weekly and the poster would have been A3 size, and put it up there, even if I did not know who these cute boys or girls were!

Then as time went on, by the age of say 15 I had matured enormously...(and we had moved house so I had four new walls to play with)

In 1979+ I only cut up and tore out pages from Smash Hits if I liked the song, or occasionally bought an ACTUAL poster to put up there. And okay, I probably had to fancy the pants off at least one of the people in the poster in order for it to make room space...

From memory, and this will only be a tiny bit of the list, if I had that photo here in front of me from 22 years ago you would see a lot of pictures of, in no particular order

Queen and Freddie Mercury
Black Sabbath
Rod Stewart
Dave Lee Roth (in black and white) wearing black leather trousers and chained to a chicken wire fence YUM YUM
Paul Jones (from the sex pistols)
Billy Idle
All the members of the Jam, together and seperately
Dave and the members of Whitesnake
Bob Marley

Foxy Smith aka Wolfy Smith aka Robert Lindsey
Lemmy (Oh dear how embarrassing)
Angus and members of AC/DC (in school uniform)
Boomtown Rats (lots of them)
Debbie Harry and Blondie (lots of them too)
A bit more Rod Stewart
and that drawing I did of Rod Stewart on the melamine wardrobe door (still got a photo of that too)
The photo of Ringo from inside the Abbey Lane album (with the spectacles that my kid sister drew on him, rubbed out again but with a bit of a line showing where they had been)
David Essex
Various arty prints of Pierrot(s)
and my vitally important laminated (I took it to the shop and paid for them to do it for me) picture, kept on my bedside table of Dennis Waterman as he appeared with Arfur.

and today at the grand old age of 38?

Three photos of a Victorian miss in deshabille

Two prints of John Waterhouse

and a Kariouan (not sure how to spell that) the one with the camels and a sort of Bethlehem theme

Thanks for asking and giving me such joy in replying
x

On my bedroom wall ... you will find YODA ... from star wars !!

YODA

Though he's lived for many years in the seclusion of a small mud hut on the edje of a dagobah swamp, the old wizard hasn't lost his charm.

Yoda has wise old eyes, a gentle grin, and a misleadingly passive demeanor. He also enjoys a good practical joke.

The power of the force is strong in him, and he is persistant in instructing luke that the secret of the force is in doing, not trying.

I have two posters in my hallway from the ‘North American Indian’ portfolio by Edward S. Curtis.

The first ‘Zuni Governer’ has this caption:

Cover my earth mother four times with many flowers.
Let the heavens be covered with the banked-up clouds.
Let the earth be covered with fog;
cover the earth with rains.
Great waters, rains, cover the earth.
Lightning cover the earth.
Let thunder be heard over the earth;
let thunder be heard;
Let thunder be heard over the six regions of the earth.

The second ‘the Rush Gatherer – Arikara’ has this quote from Lame Deer:

"We must all see ourselves as part of this Earth not as an enemy from the outside who tries to impose his will on it. We know that being a living part of the Earth, we cannot harm any part of her without hurting ourselves."

Photos and odd snippets from magazines (quotes mainly). Included a large poster of Monty Python's Gumby Man which stayed there despite my roommate accusing it of staring at him...

Oh god, this could take me ages... I used to completely cover my walls, the back of my door, my wardrobes and chest of drawers... Where do I start?
Wham!, Billy Idol, Wet Wet Wet, Jason Donovan, Man United pictures, Bros, Dolph Lundgren, Big Fun (oh the shame  ), possibly had a Brother Beyond picture at some point too (oh more shame). That black and white picture from Athena of the male model holding a baby (can't be more specific, but if any other girls had this one then they'll know what I'm on about!).
Then onto
Bon Jovi and various pictures of Jon on his own, Michael Hutchence, Guns n Roses and various pictures of Slash on his own, Skid Row and others of Sebastian Bach, Brett Michaels (lead singer of Poison), Lenny Kravitz, Nirvana and others of Kurt Kobain, Chris Cornell, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Faith No More, Metallica... Can't remember anymore...
And now? A panoramic picture of Old Trafford and Van Gogh's Sunflowers which the previous owner of the house left behind. I don't actually like it that much but I haven't taken it down yet cos it would leave a big bare wall. No others, as I haven't finished decorating, so I haven't decided what pictures to have yet.

At home when I was a kid, just pics of cars.

At Uni I had the movie poster for Texas Chainsaw Massacre, the Album Art Work for Genius/Gza 'Liquid Swords'. A cartoon caricature of me and all my friends that someone did for me. And a long stretched out picture of New York at night that I had drawn the bat sign onto.

Now, I have a hand drawn picture of Hillsborough and pictures from when I went to California a few years back.

I have a modern lifestlye chart thing. Its like a grid where you follow the lines and see if they'd mix or not. Like hemp and guiness for example.
I used to have one with Russell Crowe as Gladiator until some eejit tore it!!
