Great stuff - I'm glad you are both pleased with them. Hopefully all the other people that purchased them (we've sold half already!) will also post here. Be sure to submit a photo to me so I can get the forum gallery started!

Classic Rock 15-04-2005, 13:33 Are they only in white? Being a rocker I prefer black.:headbang:
People have often told me I look good in black as well :headbang:

Only in white I'm afraid, but as they are embroidered (as opposed to cheap transfers) you could always dye it...
Go order now: http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/misc/tshirts.php
Classic Rock 15-04-2005, 14:31 Don't be silly. You don't dye T shirts, very unprofessional.
Classic Rock Bar T shirts came in a variety of colours, if a customer wanted a colour and paid up then I ordered them in for them. It only cost me £4.50 for each T shirt, we sold them over the bar for a fiver.

 You asked if they came in black. I said 'no' but you could dye one if you really had to have it in black... 'twas a bit of joke which I guess didn't come across...
This thread is really meant for people that have received their shirts, so feel free to e-mail me (rather than reply) with any other questions or more stories about your CR t-shirts...

 But it is very easy to dye a cotton t shirt, and as Geoff says, the logo will easily hold up. You'd have more problems if it was a synthetic material, or if the logo were a transfer. In the fact the only problem I can see with dyeing one of the t shirts at home is that the logo is predominantly black, so only the 'Forum' part of the SheffieldForum.co.uk will stand out from a distance. Otherwise it shouldn't be a problem....
EDIT : Just read Geoff's post. I guess I missed the joke there too :P

Oooh, I've been silenced!
Nothing more to say really on the subject (apart from the fact that embroidery thread does come in different colours), let us know if you pick other colours in the future - you may get more interest from people who don't wear white. Like me and Rich.
Mine hasn't arrived yet :(
And I bet I can almost see Geoff's office from here - maybe I should walk and collect it!
Has anybody washed one yet?
How do they stand up in the shrinkage stakes?
I know they will shrink, coz they're cotton, but I've had a couple recently that have wound up unwearable :(

Sorry to here that. If you e-mail me (my memory is useless) then I will be sure to chase it up for you. As for coming around to my office (you work in the red light zone? :suspect: ) the t-shirts are sent direct from the suppliers I'm afraid... but you can chat to the receptionists - and be sure to ask them why our lifts area always breaking down?!
clogginchris 16-04-2005, 12:43 Just got mine today - and very nice it is too!
Mine arrived yesterday :D I shall be wearing it at tonight's meet
I think the majority of the ones ordered before Wednesday last week should now have been delivered. If yours hasn't turned up yet, then please get in touch via the contact us page.
The part about free drinks wasn't a joke. If people are kind enough to support the forum by buying a t-shirt, then I'm more than happy to return the favour. Further details will be given out shortly - probably in one of the meet-up threads.
If you haven't ordered one yet, then there are still a few available. Visit this page (http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/misc/tshirts.php) for details and to order.

I'll be washing mine this week so I'll let you know. It's a good quality cotton though so I'm expecting it to wash well.
Hooray....My Forum T-shirt arrived today......A day too late to wear for the meet last night...but better late than never!!

There is nothing different about these t-shirts, they are made from the same material (i.e. cotton!) as any normal t-shirt that you might buy from M&S for example. Therefore there is no reason they should change when you wash them (and I can confirm that they don't). Only a very cheap t-shirt would shrink and even then surely you would need to wash it at the wrong temperature for it to become so small that it's 'unwearable'... :o

Actually, they belong to Mr Strix, and there isn't alot of leeway for shrinkage when you're 6'2" :D
(and I've no idea what temp he washed them on  )

Come on Strix, you're a married lady now! What's Mr Strix doing his own washing for?

My toolbox is closer! Would you prefer a chisel or a Stanley knife? :D
Edit: And that answers the statement and the question :hihi:

I think the toolbox itself is a better bet; as long as it closed tightly! :D

Shouldn't that be 'where do we see/post photos of strange people wearing them in places?:hihi:
Well I washed & ironed mine for the 1st time & it's come up fine. (No noticeable shrinkage). It was a joy to iron (but this probably isn't the place to mention my ironing fetish :P )

I have some very strange pictures of fetishistic ironing in my head now, thank you, Siān :suspect:
Especially as I have an e-mail that says - buy a t-shirt *whip*

I have a basket load needs doing...can I bring it round?
My T-shirt's now in the Royal Mail office waiting for me to collect it. I know a couple of others have had to collect theirs also; shall we have a forum mini-meet in the Post Office?
muddycoffee 12-05-2005, 10:30 I would like to say that I was very pleased to hear of so many people getting their forum T-shirts.
but . .
I remain inconsolably dissapointed that only 7 of us have bothered to send in a picture of us sporting the famous garment.
Ok not had chance to send a photo in with it on in some exotic location, but will do in time. And you can update your pic to your new one as and when..
So come on folks.
Let's see more photos..
MC

Because the lift engineers are useless !!
Anybody any idea how the sizings work on these things?
Can you translate them into inches for me?
They are no different from the t-shirts you get in your average shop. Small means small and xx-large means extra extra large... the rest are in between. Having read your posts in this thread I'm starting to think you've never brough a t-shirt in your life before? :P
Grrr. I usually buy clothes I can pick up and feel and see
It depends on where they come from whether small means 32" or 36" Sometimes Mr Strix is 'large' and sometimes 'XL'
What's on your label then? and what size are you?
I've been led to believe mine is on it's way :D
As somebody was so persuasive :suspect:
My t-shirt came today, well worth the money!
nice one Geoff!!
Err, where's mine got to? :suspect:
*makes mental note to check out postman's outfit tomorrow  *
Dad finally fetched mine from the Capel St Post Office this morning
Look forward to hopefully wearing it to the meet on sunday..

I just ordered a Sheffield Forum T-shirt and the one's remaining immediately went down by 2.
