lol! he is quite nice though!
Phil mitchel will be back soon too :|
p.s forgot to say, i hate sharon! i cant stand her!
It's funny how people leave soaps, realise they have no actual talent and then return to the same soap, or move to another.
My sister has a theory that they are obliged to just move between soaps every couple of years to keep the viewer interested.
Sorry I don't like Sharon; but at the end of the day Letitia Dean is a good actress.
Phil next week as Louise said and Peggy in summer.
Bring back Grant I say!
x_LoUiSe_x 14-04-2005, 14:23 what happend with all the chrissy, sam, n zoe stuff? will it all come out in the end? surely they cant get away with murder?:loopy:
And how can Phil come back? Is everyone in the square going to turn a blind eye to the fact that he's an escaped convict? And surely the police would catch him pretty fast?

It's been confirmed hasn't it?
I don't think Grant agreed did he. Coz I read whatever Eastenders were offereing, ITV were beating it by miles. Plus surely it would be a pain for Eastenders...they would have to find a Courtney!
Yeah Phil gets dragged away by the cops after 'settling a few scores' and Peggy comes back in the summer to try and get him out of the mess.

IIRC, Dirty Den was involved with setting Phil up. Now that he's dead, I'm sure there'll be some far-fetched get-out story which lands Phil in the clear.
'Den' was never convincing as a 'hard man', and his gruff, whispering way of speaking is plainly hilarious. The whelk-guzzling, mendacious cockney oaf should be banished from the screen.'Sharon', like some flattened version of Samantha Fox, ever breathless, with overacting supplied by the talentless Letitia Dean, also should be consigned to history.
I cannot imagine anyone deriving pleasure, or feeling in any way uplifted by watching the deceitful antics of a bunch of untrustworthy, rat-like beings like the residents of Albert Square. The whole, depressing portrayal of life amongst the inner-city criminal classes of the capital has run its course.

Well, ermm, that settled that?
If anyone should come back from the dead it should be Greg Shadwick, once he died in Brookside I lost interest in soap land, I can't think why.
I agreen with Timo that Eastenders should be scrapped and replaced with something more wholesome like Emmerdale.
It's interesting though, how Eastenders still gets more publicity and generates more discussion than any other soap, even though everyone says it's had its day.

Or more lighthearted? Perhaps 'The World at War'? :D

Ah but he did come back - he just took a wrong turn & ended up in Holby ;)
Hang on... hasn't anyone else wondered how Timo knows so much about the 'Enders? Confess Lord Timo - you've been unmasked as a secret soap fan!

Kristian, as much as I love the characters and storylines and particularly Mr Harman...I can't stand Letitia Dean's over-the-top acting/looks/pouts. Can you please call her and tell her to ease down on this before her return!!! She can be quite a good actress when she's not ott!!!

Agreed.
There's only 1 good thing about 'Enders that makes me watch now and again, that being the fact that I *ahem* fancy Kacey Ainsworth aka Litttle Mo Slater.

Whilst I'm flattered that you're aware of my celebrity connections, I must tell you I'm not on speaking terms with Letitia anymore. Since that incident with the sausage roll in BHS, things have been quite strained. That story is for another thread though.... ;)

TBH the only reason I watched Brookside was for Greg Shadwick.

I watched Brookside for Lindsey Corkhill and the Jordache sisters, not Jacqui Dixon though she was a chavette.
Feargal,
No, gorgeous creature, I am not actually a 'soap fan. I sometimes endure Eastenders as a kind of screeching, flickering image of hades in the background, if my wife is watching it. I have never liked the programme, and have never been able to understand its appeal. The predictable plots seem to revolve around sexual and or financial deceit of some kind. Nobody appears to have any real friends, and they never offer any witty musings upon life. It is all back-stabbing, secrets, and crime.
I used to like Coronation Street, if you want me to be honest, until things took a turn for the worst. The rot set in when Reg Holdsworth left [hilariously the image of a former colleague], and the writers embarked upon portraying Salford life nearer to the nasty, gritty reality.
Soaps do not offer me any 'escapism'. They seem to be full of the most unattractive, disagreeable people imaginable. Although, I caught a rare glimpse of Hollyoaks the other day, and there were , at least, some very attractive women on show. Rather more appealing than 'Dot' and 'Deirdre', not to mention 'Salleh'[sic].

If you think that's bad, you should try a couple of nights on the gay scene! :D
In seriousness, I'm much preferring Corrie these days. There are certainly more laughs, although I'll be glad when the whole Killer Katy story is ended!
Kris,
What I would like to see is a story involving the murder of the Barlows. Preferably on honeymoon. "OOOOOOH Keeeennn!"
