Can anyone suggest the easiest way to design a web page ??

Seriously though it depends what your wanting it for. If you want if for a company then I would invest in someone to design and build it for you. It will look far more professional than one you have knocked together in front page.

If its something you want to learn then you need to learn html and css.

This is a really good site and where I started out learning HTML.

Its purely for some extra knowledge!!! Like to keep the old grey cells going.

I'll second HTML goodies too - thats where I started many moons ago! I was bored working a night shift thinking "I wonder how them there new fangled 'website' thingys work?"

The best thing to do to learn once you've got the basics is come up with an idea, then try and figure out how to do it. There are loads of resources on the web to help you on your way. Not least this forum to point you in the right direction.

Google provide both page editing and hosting for free (adverts may come later).

You can get an account at https://www.google.com/accounts/NewAccount

and produce fairly complex sites such as ...http://ecclesfield.googlepages.com/

Learn HTML basics first. Do a few tutorials, a few test pages, then learn the magic of CSS. I wouldn't advise building any sites until you have a sound knowledge of both.
