OK here goes, I really hope nobody takes offence to this or thinks its inappropriate (sp?)...........

When my and OH have been "intamate" (so to speak!) afterwards what he's left behind really drips out of me quite quickly and there's always quite alot of it!

I was just wonderin if this is normal (Ive not had much experience in this department!) and how we'l be fixed if we start trying for a family because obviously if its all rushing straight out Im not going to conceive!

Im really sorry if this embarasses or offenda anyone! but any advice would be appreciated!

there are those who suggest handstands (or at least tilting the pelvis backwards) assists in the process ;)

Another tip is to ensure you climax too - there was a very informative documentary on it which gave graphic images of the mechanics :?

oh yeah - and it is normal - hence all the jokes about sleeping in the wet patch

Perfectly normal - if you are trying to concieve, I would suggest laying on the bed with your legs up the wall (after the actual act of course)

Or, just make sure that you are laying with your feet above the level of your head - if you see what I mean...

Some chaps produce more seminal fluid than others, but the average is about 5mls per ejaculation. As others have said it's perfectly natural and normal for this to drip out of you fairly swiftly when you get up. Tissues can be handy if all else fails!

One of the other tips (see how many of us know what you mean and know about it... so normal!) is to stick a pillow under your bottom before, during or after, whichever tickles your fancy, then you most likely won't need to move.
Recommended staying time 20 mins.
Mutual pleasure will also help as the cervix acts like a vac.

Normal.

You don't need to stick a pillow under your hips to aid conception - if it worked that well, people would have sex standing up as a contraceptive! Orgasm does help though, as previous posters have mentioned.

What pillows ARE good for is avoiding a sticky patch - give yourself twenty minutes to an hour for things to settle down in there and the good sperm to get a move on, then pop to the loo and do a few kegels to clear out the leftovers.

What about those with tilted cervix'? I've often read that docs advise a pillow under the bum for those having trouble conceiving.

I have a tilted uterus and conceived without issue - Baby Alien was VERY unplanned, hehe!

Don't worry, jellybellybean - the good 'uns will get there!

i thought the same thing for YEARS!!!!!! sure I tried all the tricks to keep em in, not going to the toilet is good...you don't 'flush them out' so to speak. However i think this can lead to infection (but i may have imagined that).

The pillow is also a good idea - or the wall. Different positions too - some are deaper then others - give them more of a head start!

After 3 and a half years of trying for our daughter we were going mad and trying every suggestion we heard. It is perfectly normal to worry about these things and it is very nice to have a really good bunch of people in here to talk to.

As you can tell by my comments above, we now have a beautiful daughter so as others have said, they get there and do the job, it just may take some time.

Have fun trying though !!

I've heard that as well - or, you can cover all the bases by just varying positions through the week!
