Hello Music Lovers

We're thinking of going to the Leeds festival for one day (can't afford the weekender and they're all sold out now anyway!) and was wondering if anyone knew of a bus or coach company that arranged transport from Sheffield to the site and back again after the festival that night?? Trains don't run late enough but there must be something organised for those doing one day and don't want to drive (what's the fun in not drinking at a festival?!)

Or does anyone know of anywhere nearby that we could stay (not bothered, a good hostel would be best) which we can get to on public transport - near Leeds train station maybe?

Thanks!

I don't know of anywhere to stay in Leeds but you should be able to get back to the city centre easily enough afterwards - there's a bus shuttle service from the site to Leeds.

National Express run a regular service between Sheffield and Leeds - several departures daily in both directions BUT the last one in the evening from Leeds to Sheffield is quite early - probably around 9pm.

Last train is about 11-15pm, I think.

I hoenstly think the designated driver approach is the best to take!

ive been twice to leeds festival..

national express and you should see people hanging around the coach station when you get off...basically there are busses right outside the station entrance to the park....they run like every 10minutes or so.

although im not sure if this years is at same park? temple newsam? but i think arrangements shud be the same.

i actually spent the night at the coach station with a few others and had a laugh...the jobsworth wouldnt let us sit inside til about 6am lol...when i decided to complain that his tv had all stuff i had seem before (coach timetables) he wasent impressed!.

enjoy! i had a great time both times.

guns n roses last time

Ha ha MTheo - but what if you're a girl?!

Thanks for all the advice so far - does seem a great business opportunity for anyone with a coach who is free over the August Bank Holiday... Cliff Richard would be up for it! I can hear the singing now...

We shall find a way - any more suggestions welcome!

We are in the same situation - and looking at the liftsharing websites there are quite a few more people wanting to come back to Sheff at the end of Saturday.

Did you come up with any solutions?

Hi everyone!

me and my boyfriend are going to leeds for the saturday. The lack of trains running from leeds --> sheffield late on saturday night is a bit perplexing, we definitely won't get the last train back and miss the pixies! I suppose we'll just rough it and wait for the first train on sunday morning. Can't find anyone to hitch a ride with. If anyone can offer one get in touch my mob number is 07770906952.
