I have no idea, my BH's were brought on by tiredness and were cured easily, though I'll share those ideas if you like...
Chamomile tea
Warm relaxing bath with yummy smelling bubbles
Feet up in front of boringish telly or in bed with a nice book, nice as in not Stephen King, more Mills and Boon ideally:gag:
Laying on the floor, legs crossed yoga style and arms on the floor above the head.
Relaxation breathing, breathing slowly in and out whilst wiggling toes gently, then whilst circling ankles gently, concentrating just on that, then whilst being aware of knees, then so on and so forth all the way up the body, tensing the muscles if not flexing them and then relaxing.

Good luck :)

Everything Zebra said!, I found that a bath and a nice cup of normal (as in not herbal) tea, often accompanied by a choccie bic of your choosing worked a treat.

I guess all of the suggestions involve a degree of being relaxed so maybe thats the answer!

I found they happened more if I was stressed/tired too. Try the little me mummy to be stretch mark oil, it worked for me strange as it sounds

Hi Savbaby,
Use the BH's as a practice run to focus on your breathing techniques for the birth if you can.

Try these - inhale and exhale deeply in to the top of the chest and think about raising your collarbones. Listen/tune in to the sound of your breathing and allow your mind to visualise the ocean waves rolling backward and forward (may help to send you to sleep!).

Or, inhale deeply and as you exhale breath gently across the lower lip. Imagine you are blowing something in to the air. As the BH's become more intense, blow harder and perhaps change to counting the in and out breath, focusing on exhaling for longer than inhaling.

Hope this helps!

some great ideas there thanks :D

I dont have a bath only a shower and i really really want to have a bath to relax.

i like your idea LouLounHarry i will give it a bash, will get some relaxing tunes on my ipod so if it happens in the night again i can have something to listen to other than the OH snoring!

I finish work tomorrow so i think this will make a huge difference as they do seem to get worse when i am due to go to work or just finished!

thanks again.x
