Just moved into the area and wondering which Doctors to register with. There are two and I wondered if anyone has any suggestions as to which are the best ones?

I lived in Deepcar for 10 years and can definitely recommend the Deepcar doctors. I didn't really find Stocksbridge Health Centre Recpetion very forthcoming with help!

The medical centre on the hill at Stocksbridge is very good. The surgery in deepcar is ok but the Stocksbridge practice are much more modern in outlook.

I thought it was dependant on where you live on which doctors surgey you went to? I didn't think you were allowed to pick and choose?

Well i have valley medical centre at the mo but am totally dissatisfied with them.
And would like to change to deepcar one.
At the stocksbridge one my sons blood tests were lost , the letter referal to the hospital which they insisted was sent , was not.
As i found out when i rang childrens hosp.
Also when you ring a few days before to make an appointment
you are told to ring either on the day or just before you need the appointment.
Then when you do they tell you theyre full up.
ive never heard of anything so ridiculous.

Quite a few people have changed to the deepcar one who used the valley medical centre before.
we live nearer to deepcar but its easier to get the bus down to stocksbridge if you see what i mean.

I am with the Valley MC and have always found the Drs very good. The only problem I have is getting an appointment I cant get through on the phone it is always busy! I have heard that Deepcar MC are having a 'posh' new surgery built so might change when its done (whenever that may be). Does anyone know when this will be finished.

thanks for your comments.
still undecided although i am interested to know when deepcar are moving etc
nobody heard anything about the new deepcar building for the medical practice?
if it is a long way in the future then i may register with the stocksbridge as they DO seem more modern!
