Or any standard mineral water bottle, with a pop up top.

I got one for the gym from the shop that used to be Sugg Sport on Pinstone Street, it was £5 but it doesn't leak, it's got some kind of valve in the top, before that I was using an old Volvic bottle.

If you're willing to stretch to £5 for a water bottle I can highly recommend Nalgene bottles. They're made of unbreakable Lexan and are 100% watertight.

Have you noticed that there is now a warning on these bottles to the effect that reusing them is unhygenic?

As if that is going to stop people reusing them. I do it all the time :D

I've never understood how coke bottles etc never leak but practically every proper drinks bottle does? It can't be that hard surely!

Sigg bottles are good - aluminium, different colours and volumes, and with good accessories - different nozzles/caps/cleaning devices/insulation sleeves etc.

If it's for a youngster though it may be a shame if he loses it, as they aren't exactly cheap. Not mega expensive, but too good to lose - about a tenner for a litre bottle.

At the gym I just use an old volvic bottle, although I'm not sure it'd stand up to the sort of abuse I used to put my school bag through :D
