View Full Version : Who should you vote for carcrash 13-04-2005, 11:17 http://www.whoshouldyouvotefor.com/ Cyclone 13-04-2005, 11:23 interesting if a little bit simplistic on certain issues. I agreed with the first choice that it suggested, but i'm quite suprised at the positions it assigned to the other parties in my preference to vote. not that it matters as we don't get to put a 2nd choice. nick2 13-04-2005, 11:24 It said I should vote Lib Dem, how come the program knows what the Lib Dems would do but no-one else does ? I did think it was a scam site created by the Conservative party to find out what their policies should be. AJ sheffield 13-04-2005, 11:35 The test results told me to vote for the Conservative party. I am now going to scrub my gob out with swarfega. carcrash 13-04-2005, 11:43 this one is a bit better but a fair bit longer. http://www.politicalcompass.org/ venger 13-04-2005, 11:45 Labour -2 Conservative -20 Liberal Democrat 12 UK Independence Party 11 Green -5 spiffymonkey 13-04-2005, 11:52 Originally posted by venger Labour -2 Conservative -20 Liberal Democrat 12 UK Independence Party 11 Green -5 Hmm... LibDem and UKIP seem to some pretty close together. I am not usually that way inclined but it has to be better than being on top of Maggie Thatcher. Labour and Conservative both got heavy minus points. On the second test I was a little bit above and just to the right of Ghandi. I was glad I was nowhere near Hitler. Agent Gypo 18-04-2005, 12:15 Short quiz here for a rough guide for who to vote for; http://www.whoshouldyouvotefor.com/ Kthebean 18-04-2005, 12:42 Oh No! I'm technically a green!! Thank goodness for that! :) :) -- JGH - LibDem Candidate for Brightside slimsid2000 18-04-2005, 14:40 It looks like UKIP for me then. Well, maybe. t020 18-04-2005, 16:27 Your expected outcome: Conservative Your actual outcome: Labour -13 Conservative 47 Liberal Democrat -30 UK Independence Party 43 Green 14 You should vote: Conservative The Conservative Party is strongly against joining the Euro and against greater use of taxation to fund public services. The party broadly supported the Iraq war and backs greater policing and ID cards. The Tories are against increasing the minimum wage above the rate of inflation, and have committed to abolishing university tuition fees. They support 'virtual vouchers' for private education. redrobbo 18-04-2005, 16:40 I voted strongly in favour of sending troops into Iraq, and keeping them there. Yet the result was I should vote Lib-Dem, (who were opposed to the war!). Is this poll biased? royjames 18-04-2005, 16:49 The result is I should be voting lib dem.as if?:heyhey: Pauly 18-04-2005, 17:05 My vote should apparently go to Labour by a rating of 8. It went like this: Labour 8 Conservative -1 Lib Dem 2 UK Independance -9 Green -12 I still won't be voting but it's interesting to know where my views point me towards. :suspect: robbie 18-04-2005, 17:17 Labour 26 Conservative -43 Liberal Democrat 48 UK Independence Party -23 Green 18 robbie 18-04-2005, 17:18 Originally posted by royjames The result is I should be voting lib dem.as if?:heyhey: you pinko, Commie, lefty, yoghurt weaving Liberal you:D A.B.Yaffle 18-04-2005, 17:47 Apparently I should be voting Lib Dem (70), followed by Labour (45), Green (18), UKIP (-44), Tories (-86). I definitely won't be voting Lib though! Pauly 18-04-2005, 18:12 I think I've only ever done these political surveys a couple of times and I always seem to come out pretty central leaning neither one way or the other. I've got none of the high scores that most people seem to have got. :| Sheffette 18-04-2005, 18:30 I came out as a Lib Dem and in the same political compass 'blob' as the Dalai Lama - does that mean the Dalai Lama is a Lib Dem then? t020 18-04-2005, 20:26 Originally posted by Sheffette I came out as a Lib Dem and in the same political compass 'blob' as the Dalai Lama - does that mean the Dalai Lama is a Lib Dem then? On the political compass: Left/right: -2,13 Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.69 So that makes me a left wing libertarian. MuteWitness 04-05-2005, 12:26 www.whoshouldyouvotefor.com You should vote: Green The Green Party, which is of course strong on environmental issues, takes a strong position on welfare issues, but was firmly against the war in Iraq. Other key concerns are cannabis, where the party takes a liberal line, and foxhunting, which unsurprisingly the Greens are firmly against. The Greens are also anti-Europe. savbaby 04-05-2005, 12:29 Originally posted by f_g www.whoshouldyouvotefor.com You should vote: Green The Green Party, which is of course strong on environmental issues, takes a strong position on welfare issues, but was firmly against the war in Iraq. Got mostly Lib Dems and then green second. However apparently it's quite biased and jacks you up to 50% more on Labour if you agree with top up fees, and the like. LordChaverly 04-05-2005, 12:37 The test is definitely skewed towards the Greens. The questions do not exactly parallel the positions of the parties in the manifestos - they are oversimplifications. Perhaps the test is a new subliminal form of political persuasion JonJParr 04-05-2005, 12:40 When I took this test I was 72% Conservative. Seems bang on to me! leddi 04-05-2005, 15:24 Just did the quiz... its saying I should vote UKIP.. second on the list was Conservative and third was Green (it was a -ve result for the others). I voted UKIP back in 1997.. mmm.. descisions decisions!!! I'm one of those last minute, mid twenties, undecided voters! t020 04-05-2005, 15:43 Incidentally this thread has been done before, here: http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?s=&threadid=36280 max 04-05-2005, 16:14 Originally posted by t020 Incidentally this thread has been done before, here: http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?s=&threadid=36280 MOD:Thanks, threads merged. poppins 04-05-2005, 16:21 Originally posted by max MOD:Thanks, threads merged.
