Hi there, I don't think you can compare two babies really. For example, my daughter is now 16 weeks old and weighs 12lb 1 ......... my friends little boy was born the day before my LO and 2 weeks ago weighed 15lb 7 !!

He looks like he is 2 months older than my daughter.

My little one at 8 1/2 weeks weighed 10lb 11oz. I heard that girls tend to put on less weight than boys at the beginning.

Babies are different weights at birth so as long as the baby is putting on his/her weight nicely why worry? xxx

My little girl is 13 months and weighs 23 pounds and 1 and my son is 2 and a half and he weighs 29pound and 9. There both just above the average line and have always followed that. They were both 8 pound 2 at birth.

Scarlett is 14 weeks and 13lb 5oz. She's following the 50th percentil (the middle average one) for height and weight.

my son was 9lb5oz at birth and my cousan had her baby 6 weeks before and he was 8lb 6oz. they are know nearly 19 months and 20 months, my son is 27lb6oz and has stayed on his guideline since 6 weeks old so he just right. my cousans son is about 4 inches taller and is only 22lb6oz so that just shows that thier all so differant thiers no use compairing too closely

My baby boy was 7lb 8oz at birth, he is now 8 months and weighs 18lb 3 oz, he is below the line and is on the 75th percentile line for his height! The health visitor is not concerned, she just said he is growing upwards not outwards and that all babies are different.
My eldest was a chunky monkey, she was 9lb 11oz at birth and was 18lb by the time she was 16weeks and always followed the 75th percentile line for her height. .
Then my middle child was 8lb 5oz and was 18lb when she was 22weeks but again followed the 75th percentile line for her height.

My baby is titch, she weighed 12lb 12oz yesterday at 18 weeks. Considering she started on at 8lb 13oz she hasn't gained much really. My others were the same though, little skinny things.

Did your HV refer her to the growth clinic though? I was fuming
And she was pushing me to give her formula when I wanted to exclusively breast feed her. Boys usually weigh more I think.

oh they tried all that, but i refused to go. She was exclusively breastfed and they were pushing me to start weaning her from 4 months onwards, she wasnt ready for food at 6 months but i got fed up and gave in, as a result it took her a long time to get the hang of it, whereas my other 2 got it almost straight away. They still don't think I feed her, even though she is always eating! Now they've got the doldrums on cos she isnt walking at 18 months, I swear they arent happy unless they've got something to make you fret about!

Speedy 4 is a dinky - she was 9lbs at birth, but the last time I had her weighed, 3 weeks before her 1st birthday, she was still only 18lbs 8.5oz, meaning that technically, she should still be in the "carry-tot" car seat!! At 17 weeks, she was 12lbs 11oz. She was never a good feeder, and still isn't brilliant now. Was awful at getting onto solids, was about 37 weeks when she started to get better at eating proper food! Speedy 5, on the other hand, was weighed on thursday at 3 weeks old, and she was 7lbs 14.5oz so she's put on 12oz since she was born. She's a much better feeder than speedy 4 ever was.

Oh good for you, glad it wasn't just me. I did go, even though she had settled nicely on the 9th. She still wanted me to go back in 6 weeks time becasue apparanlty pooing once a week is unusual for a breastfed baby- even the evil HV said that was normal. I "forgot" to hand the appointment note in for next time, i'm not going back so they can prod and poke, and take blood from healthy baby!

We are in a similar boat, Tegan was 8lb5oz at birth and now weighs 12lb0.5oz at 13 weeks :| She doesn't seem to be gaining much, 1.5oz in the last week and an oz the week before but she has bad reflux so that is part of it I think.
But the docs aren't concerned so she must be doing ok!

I have no idea how much my 19 month old weighs but I can tell by looking at him that there's nothing to worry about. He weighed 221b at 9 months and that's the last time he was weighed properly. I did weight him on wii fit a while ago and all I can remeber is he was a few pounds over 2 stone but I've no idea what percentile that would be on.

Rachel is now almost 9 months old (where has that gone ?) and now weighs 16 pound, 15 and a half ounces.

My friends l/o is a day older and he weighs 19 pound 9 !

Like I have said before, you cannot really compare one baby with another.

my 4 month old is heavier than your 7 month old:hihi::hihi: Nathan is over 17lb now! he fits into 6/9 month clothes perfectly on top the trousers are too long, he has a really long body and short legs.. i just hope his legs catch up with his body!!:D

That's just like my little boy. He's 19 months and on his top half he's wearing mostly 2-3 years clothes. He's always been one or two sizes bigger than his age. But on his bottom half he still fits into a lot of his 12-18 months trousers. Only problem is the crotch area isn't really big enough so he gets a builders bum!! He's going to have to go into the 18-14 months ones and just have them rolled up. Just recently though I have noticed that his legs don't seem as short in comparison to his body so there is hope for the legs catching up I think!

Wolfcub weighed 12lb 13oz at 8 weeks (he's now 10 weeks, and who knows...after the first it seems you lose the weight obsession unless there's a problem, LOL). At the same age, his brother, Cosycub, weighed 13lb 12oz. Cosycub was 10lb 13oz at birth, and Wolfcub was 6lb 13oz...it seems that they are both destined to be big, whatever their birth weight.
I am about to move Wolfie into 3-6 month clothes. At three and a half years old, Cosy is in 5-6 year old clothes. Wolfie is a fat little ball of babyness, as Cosy was at his age. Now Cosy is a tall, slender but sturdy little boy. The only problem being that even we sometimes forget that he is only very young.

Babies and children grow at a variety of different rates, I wouldn't bother worrying about comparing your children with someone elses. I only compare my boys weights out of interest, not to measure one's progress against the other. It's so much fun to try ti o imagine how they will turn out, tho I can't really :)

I have bought some 6-9 sleepsuits and his feet are at the end already....maybe he will just get fatter.

He is only on the 9th line - he was getting v. close to the 25th but since being mobile he is back down to the 9th. Oh well he is still lovely! :)

I didn't think my baby was all that big until I read all the replies.

Daniel was 13 weeks old on Friday and weighs well over 18lb! He's just about going into 6-9 month clothes now at 3 months old. He doesn't look fat though, he's very long and very solid!!!

I read somewhere that on average a baby will double it's birth weight by 6 months and triple it by 1 yr. Althought I don't know how true this is?
