View Full Version : Local IT Temping agencies? hade 13-04-2005, 08:50 Does anyone know if there are any local temping agancies that cater for or specialise in IT positions? And also, what kind of rates could I expect? Cheerz JoeP 13-04-2005, 09:05 Hi, TEK and Modis are pretty good. I'm currently on a contract with Modis. However, agencies like Spring, Hays and Rullion do have contracts in teh Sheffield / Rotherham / Chesterfield area. Rates will depend upon your skill set and the client. Sheffield is typically not as well paying a place as Leeds is, so you might want to consider looking looking there and commuting to Leeds. Here in Sheffield I've had rates around 12-20 GBP an hour offered on web development work, 20-25 GBP on Visual BASIC and 25-25 GBP per hour for Project Management. In Leeds, rates are typically higher. Are you talking about development work? DBA? Analysis? Joe hade 13-04-2005, 09:45 Ta for that Joe Not sure what I'm looking for yet, need to see what's available. I don't have any exp or quals in development, but have 5 years exp as senior IT/media technician at a university, so I suppose support, server admin, web design, video editing (long shot I know!) I applied for some a couple of Sundays ago an had a barrage of phone calls from the agencies on the Monday. Had an interview set up by Wednesday and got the job. Cheered me up no end. MovingOn 14-04-2005, 13:13 Do you have the website addresses for TEK and modis?? AaronD 14-04-2005, 13:59 Yeah jobserve is cool, though it depends on what you want to do and your experiences. Years ago i sent them my CV and was inundated with calls, avg 2 - 3 a day but that was for permenant IT work not temp stuff. |
