View Full Version : Can anyone recommend a good kitchen fitter please
Hi all,
Im looking for a reliable kitchen fitter in sheffield (im in crookes) that can assemble and fit my kitchen. I have all the parts already, I just need someone to put it all together after my last fitter let me down :(
Help appreciaed :)
PM coggy
Or 'search' to find his number
Dont ask my husband! we ate take aways for weeks lol
When I did my mum's kitchen, there were no disruptions to services. The kettle had to be filled from the tap outside the back door, but the dishwasher was fully connected and operational every evening
The cooker was in the middle of the floor on a huge piece of flex supplied specially during the earlier re-wiring :D
Pleased to say my kitchen is now in full working order.........as from 24.12.04 (yes on xmas eve we still sorting it lol) but xmas dinner was cooked and now I just back to normal in my kitchen no boobie traps anymore - now I am posh lol.....but never again would I let my Electrician of a husband believe he could do the job of my dad a Joiner! :-)

Seems a decent price to me if they are supplying made to measure doors - manufacturers usually charge a 20% premium. I can point you in the right direction for doors if you'd like. PM me if you wish.
mite be a good price :( he's supposed to be a gud bloke i am just very tight on money for....a while! hmmmm...
i'll think of something.
i may pm u at a later date if i chop off my fingers or lose my temper. :)
MTheo, if you go to any timber merchant, they can cut you some MDF to exact sizes (and it'll be squarer than you can manage!) then all you need is to run a router round the edge to give a more 'door' kind of look.
The tricky part is setting the hinges, so that may be the time to hand the job on. When you come to paint your 'doors', a gloss roller will give a better finish than a brush
Sorry if I'm teaching my grandmother here ;)
fnkysknky 13-04-2005, 21:21 If you want to be a bit adventurous then you could knock together some Shaker style doors or just about any other - depends on your level of knowledge and expertise. Should be able to find plans on the net somewhere.
well i have no expertise at all! but i do have the readers digest complete diy guide (updated edition!) lol.
i'll bung them on the wall and think about the doors when ive got more time on my hands. thanks for the advice :)
Dont need plans to make shaker style doors unless your doing them properly.
Cut 12mm MDF the size of your door. Then cut 6mm MDF the width of the false rails and glue them on top of the 12mm in the shaker style ie 1 top, 1 bottom and the 2 side rails.
The door will then be 18mm thick which is thick enough to take the concealed hinges which can be drilled with a 35mm Forstener bit
Hope this helps
