The trouble flared up when Shevchenkoscored to give Milan a 3-0 aggregate lead.

My question is, what are UEFA going to do about this? I reckon they punish the clubs involved heavily but I think all they will probably do is award the fixture to Milan.

Had the floodlights failed? Why should fans be punished for taking the initiative and trying to keep the game going?

If this was an English team UEFA would come down on them like a ton of bricks.

Are flares banned from Italian grounds? (and I don't mean the student loved wide bottomed trousers either)It seems to be the norm, especially in italy to have flares going off in the ground. You're right though Likszz if this was an English team in an English ground they would have been fined and threatend with ejection from the competition by now.

I expect Inter will face a couple of games behind closed doors or some other wishy-washy punishment. What should happen is that Inter are banned from next year's Champions League, but that's about as likely as an apology from Louis Aragones.

As far as UEFA are concerned, hooliganism only deserves a proper punishment when the English are involved.

That is so true.

No wonder that footie fans get such a bad rep.

Turin has an alcohol ban for the match that Liverpool are playing.

Extra police being drafted in.

Sparks will fly there also I imagine :(

I cant believe how long it went on for.

Did they send any police in?

it looked like one of those knee jerk reactions;

i know, we can get the match abandoned! they wont know what to do!

shame they werent thinking long term.

id like to see them banned from next years comp.

but unless uefa is done away with and an efficient sensible association set up they will get a wrist slap

more trouble tonight.

The police WATCH and do NOTHING.

Stewards LET Verona fans into the Italy/Scotland game at half time to fight with the Inter Ultras.

Drug cover up by government in football.

82 police injured by fans last weekend in seperate incident.

Italy and Italian clubs should be kicked out of European competition.

This news shouldn't come as a surprise. When Wales played at the san Siro in September 2003, the Welsh fans were subjected to missiles ( and urine) raining down on them from the Italians.

I could not take a gas horn to a match in the Millenium Stadium; and they get away with fireworks!

How about banning Italy from euro and world cup competitions?

The pathetic punishment is, "Next 4 to 6 Euro matches played behind closed doors and a pathetic 130,000 quid fine, which is about what Adriano earns a week or 2"

i wanted them to get, 1 years worth of games to be played behind closed doors and a 5-10 million pound fine, or the same fine but a years expulsion from the champions league.

Dida could have been blinded if it hit him in the face or the flare could have easily set his shirt on fire and being nylon would have been caused serious burns. the punishment handed out is too soft, well what did we expect with it being an Italian team

You're right longleyowl....pathetic!

They all ought to be made to watch, or play, for Wednesday for 4 - 6 weeks.

That'll learn 'em by gum.

My alternative punishment for them would be........

a: 2 year ban from European competition.

b: Fine of 10 times the weekly income of their highest earner.

c: Next 10 games to be played behind closed doors...without TV coverage.

d: Deduction of 30 league points.

e: And just to be severe, make them wear pink strip with yellow boots and purple numbers for next 2,461 matches.

Thank God for them I'm in a good mood:D

Now what was the question again?

I would have thought being Italian would have been punishment enough, and don't get me started on their crap food.;)

Anyhow, back on topic.

Any idea whether Dida is taking out a personal claim against Inter, (the team or supporters)?
