Yesterday i went to go on my laptop but it would not turn on, i kept trying but it would not start up, i tried a few things.
Then after a few hours i decided to try something else and take the battery out, then i tried turning it on and it came on straight away.
Thing is my battery works well and lasts 2 hours, what could be wrong with the battery to make my laptop not turn on?
Do i need to buy a new battery or was it just a coincidence?

ive had old laptops do that
removed battery and put it back and no probs
only thing i could put it down too is that it had crashed rather than shut down
therefore removing the battery had let it power down
you get same with digiboxes where you need to remove them from power for a bit and then repower them
It is possible that it is a battery fault. I'd monitor it and see what happens.
It could be that it's overheated and you've needed to disconnect all power to reset the board - similar to when you pull the plug out of your sky box for 10 seconds then plug it back in again! Had you left the laptop running in a not so well ventilated area? (i.e. on the arm of the leather settee like I always do!!)

Funnily enough i did leave it running on the sofa arm for a while.

I have a really high end laptop at work and it does that sometimes. So don't worry.

Cheers for all of the replies, i didn't know whether it was something serious as it didn't power on for a good few hours & only powered up when i removed the battery, i'll see how it goes.
I have never known that before to be honest.

I've had it happen numerous times on different laptops. The one I'm using now has done it a few times over about 3 years and is still ok.
