What service are you paying for? Have you exceeded your providers fair usage limits? smary 19-06-2008, 17:42 we dont have the same provider and I only pay for 579 Kpbs - but I have spoken to my provider - they say my line will take 2.5 megs but I am dubious that thats what I will get - am I being too cautious - should I pay the extra for a the bigger speed. I haven't exceeded the usage limits alchemist 19-06-2008, 18:53 well that does explain why you get 579, thats what you are paying for. I am paying for 4 meg and damn lucky to get 3 adambaz 19-06-2008, 19:15 Should I pay the extra for a the bigger speed. Do you need the extra speed? If it's double the price then it's probably not worth it. mr yosh 19-06-2008, 19:17 im paying for 8mbs but getting 5 cgksheff 19-06-2008, 19:25 Many providers are giving 2mbs as a minimum. If your neighbour is getting 2.3, then I would go for it. Who is your provider/how much are you paying? smary 20-06-2008, 08:51 I am with Tiscali and pay 12.99 per month - I have been told that because we are too far away from the exchange there is no point - but if a neighbour gets 2352 Kbps surely I should get the same. Having said that I have also heard that the computer speed can have something to do with it!!!! cgksheff 20-06-2008, 10:12 Did Tiscali tell you that? For the same price you can get Tiscali Broadband. Why don't you just upgrade your package online and see what happens? smary 20-06-2008, 10:25 I have got Tiscali Broadband at 12.99 - I am being a bit mean really I just dont want to pay the extra if I dont get the extra speed. I can't see why I can't have the 2 mb but still pay the 12.99 cgksheff 20-06-2008, 11:34 Have you seen their current rates? I'm sure that the minimum that they provide IS 2mb for £12.99. |
