Why do you think they will go down well? Have you done market research which indicates this? How do they differ from similar t-shirts currently available What qualities and skills do you have which will prepare you for running a business? Do you have as business plan and source of funding? These are all things you really need to think about WeLoveSleep 18-06-2008, 19:07 I would suggest you get some made up, and try and sell them, if they sell get some more made and if they sell etc etc... Just give it a go, if it doesn't work you have lost the price of 10-20 t-shirts..... Didn't someone from Sheffield come up with the "bored of the Beckhams" t-shirts? And I think they built a business on it..... http://www.boredofthebeckhams.com/ You could try trademarking the slogan, but that costs money. I would suggest keeping records of your design so you can prove when you first used the idea....... fabulous_girl 18-06-2008, 19:10 thats what i think i might do and then try and flog them at events in sheffield. gotta come up with the artwork but the boyf should be able to help with that Fancie 18-06-2008, 22:18 Have a look at www.spreadshirt.net. You can host a 'shop' on there free of charge, might be a good way of testing the market without any outlay. I have some bits on there, you can choose whether to add comission or just charge what they charge (which isn't mega cheap, but its a low risk way for you to start off) Have a look at ours to give you an idea http://363629.spreadshirt.net/en/GB/Shop You could just put a few on there and advertise, see what happens! :) Good luck! fabulous_girl 19-06-2008, 07:50 Have a look at www.spreadshirt.net. Excellent, thanks! yours look great! Fancie 19-06-2008, 08:25 Thanks :) The products are really good quality, but if you were to go into it full time you would obviously need to source a wholesaler. This is just a way of you testing it with no initial outlay! fabulous_girl 20-06-2008, 08:48 thanks very much - worked on them yesterday and today and heres what i have done so far http://372955.spreadshirt.net/ http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=17830019146 louloulashes 21-06-2008, 11:53 We might be interested in stocking your t-shirts in our new shop, we trying to get local designers selling in our shop and even using the studio we have in the back to produce them. ViperK 22-06-2008, 14:08 hey, i used to own a fashion lable and promoted it pretty much all through myspace, its a really really easy way to do it. printing at www.monsterscreenprints.com get some badges at www.cheapbadges.co.uk get a myspace.com/your name here page get a paypal account and get going. if you want some help with this pm me =] fabulous_girl 22-06-2008, 16:37 cool thanks - i have done something similar before - i have about 4 yspace accounts for various things! once i have some time i will get onto that too fabulous_girl 25-06-2008, 10:51 I am trying to decide whether or not I should take the risk and get a load of t-shirts printed up and have a stall at the Music in the Sun festival in August....Its £150 for the stall, though I have a friend who might be willing to split the cost with me to sell her wares. Hummmm, should I go for it? floyd77 25-06-2008, 11:39 Id say go for it - festivals are the ideal market for your type of business. You could even do a run of 'festival specific' shirts? I wouldnt even worry about making a massive profit at this stage, as long as you cover costs, you're getting your product out there to your target market which is ideal advertising. princessL 04-07-2008, 07:59 Hi, Im organising a charity fashion show on 17 July and wondered if you would be interested in having a stall there? looby lou 04-07-2008, 12:29 Hi sorry its taken ages to get back to you, its like a gala going to be called the hillsborough show loads going on, inc car boot sale, stalls, funfair, bouncy castle etc. like I said before if you are interested just give me a ring number is 07756891818, and we can discuss everything diablo 05-08-2008, 10:17 Best of luck with this, setting up a business is hardwork, but with the right mental attitude the sky's the limit. |
