Does anybody know where we might get somebody to host our local Badminton club website for free - or at very reduced rates? We're willing to do a bit of advertising in return... We have lots of material prepared and a webmaster to design it - just the need the host.

I think my boyfriend created his website with www.freewebs.com (or .co.uk??). I don't really understand it all but hope this helps :)
Several of our users supply hosting - you may get more response if you post in the 'Ask an Expert' section.
If you want, I'll move this thread there. (Please don't just copy teh post in to the other Forum!! :) )
PM me if you'd like it moving, or use the Report Post option and request the thread be moved.

I've just started using XT Host (http://www.xthost.info/index.php). It's free and you start with a 30gb limit, although you can ask for more.
The downside is the XT Host name in the url of your website ie:
http://xthost.info/vidster9/HTML/index.html
Something i wasn't really bothered about ;)
Mod Note
Moved here at my suggestion and the agreement of the original poster! :)

Oops sorry ANGELUS  must learn to take note in future. If you look at the forum you will see that XT Host is just the baby and the big websites get free hosting from Delux webhosting.
Sadly, i doubt they're giving away GB's yet :heyhey:

I normally use www.ndo.co.uk as they will provide a free .co.uk domain name along with free hosting. The only catch is you have to dial up to their provider using a wind up modem at a local rate.
Apart from that all is good
