3 years old is definitely too young for ANY martial art IMO, I know our Karate instructor won't take on ANYONE under 6 and even then he's a bit reluctant to take younger kids sometimes.

Some instructors will take them from 4 though, so try again next year.

i was thinking the same (about been too young) but it seems to be something he really wants to do. i though it would also help in get rid of some of his energy (he never seems to stop)

Watching stuff like Power Rangers on Sky I suspect.. They always tell you not to try it at home as well.

he watched a program with me about children kick boxing (baby fight club i think it was)etc and ever since then hes wanted to do it. he gets his dad to let him "practice" kick boxing on him.

Poor dad gets a black eye :hihi: sorry, that bold sounds funny.

IMO, I think there is nothing worng with starting a child off in a healthy sport like kick boxing (or any other sport). Sadly clubs have got the compensation culture hanging over them.

I think 5 is the earliest most clubs will take them

3 years is a little young. However there is nothing wrong with buying some pads and taking little un through the basics.

You can get baby punch bags etc from Argos and other places - get him one of them until he's 6 at least.

Try saying "no" to him .. he shouldn't always get what he wants.

And is it only me that thinks a 3 year old watching kick boxing (be it kids or adults kicking the cr*p out of each other) on TV is wrong?!

What next? a copy of Grand Theft Auto on PS3 for Christmas because he 'wants' that as well?

it was a documentary on it.
also i am not going to say no to him wanting a hobby, i think children should be aloud to try every hobby they want.
