by a field mouse

There he was innocently minding his own business with his nose pressed to the floor as per usual when a brave little field mouse took umbridge to Eddy running his nose along it's back as he sniffed along the ground.

The first I knew of it was when Eddy jumped back startled from some long grass and there, in the grass was a tiny field mouse putting up a BIG fight.

Eddy was very shocked but Takara thought it was ace and came over to play.

I can honestly say I've never seen a large breed dog wrestle so gently with an animal of such a small size, unfortunately her mouth was way too big to play properly but several snaps at the air and play bowing along the way was good enough.

The little mouse stood there on his back legs fighting back and it could only have been better if he was wearing little boxing gloves!

It is one experience I will never, ever forget!

Sounds brilliant!

Field mice can be scary you know!! I once had one stare me down in MY own living room!

Reminds me of the time I came home from school to find 10 stone of GSD cowering from a spider in the kitchen. If she could have jumped onto the kitchen table and squealed like a girl, she would have!

you got me really worried for a minute, thinking Eddy had come a cropper to another dog or some mindless thug! I wouldve loved to have seen him and Takara with that mouse- Ailsa would have just thumped it with her great big gallumpfing front paws - gentle isn't in her vocabulary... Although she's not bad with Beauty, our rescue bengal- I told Ailsa she's got a 'poorly' (had a broken pelvis/tail at some point) and she seems to understand that means no chasing, thumping or trampling all over her.

Glad Eddie wasn't hurt or anything though x
