View Full Version : Liver and White spot Dalmation
Hello
My dad recently had to have his beloved Dally put to sleep and is so very lonely without him.
He would love another one but don't really know where to look.
Any ideas??
Thanks

Ooh well I don't actually but there is quite a bit of information in this (http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=358859) thread, and although the family said they were going to keep the dog I wonder if it might be worth a quick pm? I'm presuming that you Dad does not have small children.
Good luck in finding him a lovely new friend :)
Dally rescue always has animals looking for new homes too- if your dad has had a dally before I assume he has the nerves of steel and attitude needed to curb their natural strong will so he could offer one a really great new chance.
He doesn't have kids Moonbird but he does look after my 4yr old occasionally.

Hmm maybe not then, it was just a thought... good luck anyway :)

Oh poor love! Can't imagine rehoming one of my animals so late in their lives. It must be such a culture shock for them.
Moonbird 18-06-2008, 11:49 Yes poor Laney, if she could talk I wonder what she would say though.
Would she want to stay with the people she loves and has always known in less than ideal circumstances...or would she at her age want to move on to pastures knew.
Food for thought that one, bless her
loopylass 18-06-2008, 12:15 I agree. My poor Yoda got to 11 then the owners decided they didn't want him cos they were having a baby. Makes my blood boil  but so glad they didn't cos I've gained the most loveliest doggy :D
thanks for all the replies.
My dad has decided to wait a little while as the loss is still a bit raw.
I'll be sure to post lots of pics once he does get a new one!

how could anyone get rid of a dog theyve had for 12 years from a pup :(
We got Eddy when he was 11 1/2 and I certainly couldn't give him up... but I think it's very brave to let a dog go to a more suitable home if you can no longer offer it what it needs.

I don't get how, except in the direst of circumstances (health, homelessness), anyone can contemplate getting rid of a pet.
