Good day all, I know this is not what the forum is traditionally used for, but I thought I'd give it a go.

But if you don't ask you don't get!!!!

This year I am taking part in The Weekend to Breakthrough Breast Cancer, a two-day; 60 km (thats about 39 miles) walk through the neighbourhoods of London (camping out overnight), taking place 23-25 September 2005.

This is a cause I really believe in; in 1998 my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer, its something she has been fighting ever since. In the years since my mum was diagnosed we have met some very special people, not all of them are with us today, some of them are working hard to fight breast cancer.

One in every nine British women will develop breast cancer in her lifetime. Chances are you will know someone who has been affected.

It’s going to be a real challenge for me.... so here's how you can help, visit the Breakthrough Weekend website, from there you can read about how I am getting on with my training, see how much I have raised, and most importantly sponsor me.

CLICK HERE TO SPONSOR ME (http://www.breakthroughweekend.org/site/TR?pg=personal&fr_id=1000&px=1115374)

I am going to have to train very hard to be able to complete this challenge, but its an opportunity to do something BIG, by sponsoring me you become a part of this fantastic event, and support a very worthy cause.

 Many thanks in advance for your support.

As part of the team I am in we are organising a charity auction and raffle night, perhaps you or the company you work for would like to make a donation of an auction item or raffle prize.... Do you know any celebrities who would be willing to donate something to the event.

If you’d like to talk to me about the event, sponsorship, fundraising ideas, or anything else, please drop me a line.

I know its Cheeky... but I thought I'd give it a go, I've not been in Sheffield long and I need all the help I can get with this walk.

So what do you wanna know?

Hi there Ratbagtowers,

I think what you're doing sounds great! I walked the Great Wall of China for Cancer Research a few years ago and although it was bloody hard work it was a fantastic experience. I had to organise quiet a few fundraisers to get my limit so I know what hard work it is. The company that I worked for at the time was really supportive and actually matched me pound for pound. But the reason I'm mentioning it here is because they're a publishing company and put out alot of celebrity biogs, big novels etc and you might be able to get some great signed stuff for your raffle. If you PM me your address I'll have a word with my friend who works there and see if she can send you a box of stuff.

Is the auction an open event? Good luck with it all anyway.
