Ok, so this is a story in the Star about how much it costs to support United. Never mind that though. This is a survey carried out by the Conservative party.

They claim that it's difficult to follow a team because of all the taxes people face.

That may be so, but why are they carrying surveys out on stuff like this?

how can it cost £233 more to watch the blades than wednesday when we have cheaper season ticket prices than then and travel to the same grounds?

Have they included the cost of a half-time pint and beer? Do such things cost significantly more at Hillsborough than at Bramall Lane?

Otherwise it is a bit of a mystery. If most of the other Championship sides are South of Sheffield, than the average United fan might have an overall petrol bill of some £2 less over tha season, but that's hardly noticeable.

Cos being a blade you also have to pay for the man in white jacket to stand next to you and look after you.

And you're probably right. Once you have X amount of money left over for leisure pursuits, it's entirely up to you what pursuits it gets spent on.
