There is a programme on Saturday Mornings, BBC 2, called Saturday Kitchen. An OK type of programme, and as I like to tinker in the kitchen I do get some ideas.
This week, however, at the end they cooked sweet blueberry pancakes with 2 rashers of streaky bacon criss crossed on the top and a soft boiled egg on top of that. Anyone ever tried it?
It put me in mind of a Bedfordshire Clanger, which was a suet roll with meat at one end, a suet wall in the middle and a jam roly poly the other end. All eaten off the same plate. This is true, I have had many in my youth. Make sure you start at right end though.
What local food have you sampled
