we have 2 rescue dogs , one 19 month staffie cross, and one lurcher cross who is 2 and a half. i normaly would not put the dogs in kennels but a last min holiday where the dogs are not allowed has lead us to have to put them in kennels. they need to be kept sepperate in the kennel but can be together to play in a run etc. the dogs mean as much to me as most people so want somewhere that they will be well loved looked after by people who love dogs and are not just doing it for the money. might be asking a lot i know, but i would be so angry and heart broke if anything was to happen to them. the best kennels we have seen so far was rainbow hill kennels, they dont walk the dogs but instead have a large secure pen that the dogs are allowed free in to play and run for about 10 mins twice a day. has anyone taken there dogs there this year etc and what did you think of them.

any more that people can recomend.

we have this week only to find one.

cheers

mutlins can board dogs in their own family home and have very tight security, as well as a field, orchard and large garden to let your dogs run around in. They have 3 dogs of their own and are licensed to take another 6. I would thoroughly recommend them (if your dogs get along with other dogs reasonably ok).Very reasonable prices and nice friendly people!! http://www.mutlins.org.uk/index.html

We've used Rainbow before and were pleased with the care they took of our dogs, but they did both come back with Kennel Cough:(

We now use FoxHoles Animal Hotel at Haigh(Junction 38 of M1) and they are brilliant. We turned up without warning and asked to have a look around and found people on their hands and knees scrubbing kennels out, playing with the dogs etc. They also take them on 2 walks a day around a lake in a secure enclosure and you can get your dog groomed during their stay too:). They check all vaccination certificates and recently have started asking for a kennel cough vaccine too. Our dogs bound over to them when we arrive and are always relaxed and clean when they come home.

If we ever had to put Brude in kennels it'd be Marshalls at Fence

I did the rounds of kennel inspecting in case we needed it, and the dogs there seemed to be the happiest and least stressed (though booking can be a problem as they seem to be popular!)

Fortunately Brude isn't usually short of volunteers to look after him on the rare occasions we've needed it :D
