Noticed the boards have been taken off on the west street side of Royal Plaza building. An opening soon sign is visible in the window for a Tesco Express 24 Hour.
Anyone have experience of their prices vs Spar, or heard anything about this?
Why are you comparing them to the Spar shop? I thought a comparison with Budgens (in the West One complex) would have been more logical? I should imagine that the prices will all be very similar to be honest - what with their price fixing :P
Edit: I heard that there is going to be a Nandos under there too.

Yep from what i've heard there going to be a Nando's and Tesco's opening up downstair, should be pretty convinient for me.The reason for compairing it to Spar shop is that the Spar is closer to Royal Plaza than Budgens, and from what my mates in West One have told me the Spar is cheaper as well.
good. starting to feel more like a city now. (my own logic)
Budgens seems a total rip off from the one visit I made there.

Just a quick question to any of the city dwellers amongst us.........
What is the soundproofing like on the city centre flats. Can you hear noise, music, etc from your neighbours, the street, etc.

The sound proofing in my place is pretty good, can't really hear anything from next door, can't really hear the street unless the balcony doors are open.A mate of mine lives in west one and its pretty much the same there aswell, but then again, you aint going to be paying £200,000+ for an apartment thats noisy as hell.
I would agree with Mr Craig with the exception that the soundproofing facing onto the internal corridor isn't particulary good. The noise of other people's door shutting can be heard clearly and loudly from inside the flats. Also if you walk down the corridor people's tv are audible.
However the other night I came out onto my balcony just as the people below came out onto their's accompanied by a blast of v. loud music which I couldn't hear from inside which was pleasing.
The Tesco should be handy - hopefully the building won't stink of fried chicken after Nando's open.

true - but I couldn't have got through last summer with the windows shut. Even with them open for months, and no heating on, my flat was still extremely warm.
And you do get used to the noise. Though on those weekends when I have to be up early for work it isn't easy to sleep with Division St. in full-on party mode.
But I am not complaining - I wanted city-centre and that's what I got.
