Lotti 16-06-2008, 11:50 AM Hi,
Can anyone advise me on internet and phone for a business premises please? I'm doing my cost sheet and really need some help as I'm rubbish!
Thanks!
Jess22 16-06-2008, 01:14 PM What are you wanting to know? How much it will cost you or which provider to go with?
Lotti 16-06-2008, 01:23 PM both Jess :D
sandorasbox 16-06-2008, 11:12 PM Hi, I have my phone with xltelecommunication its £15.99 per month with 10 hours free local & national calls mobiles are charged extra.I had broadband with BT at £37.50 per month but you are in a 12mth contract I'm sure you can get it cheaper
Fancie 16-06-2008, 11:21 PM A business line (BT) is between £40 - £48 per quarter, depending on the contract length.
BT Business Broadband is either £19.99/ £26.99/ £40.50 (2 yr contracts)
Not sure about other service providers, sorry.
Hope this helps. :)
Pete1024 17-06-2008, 12:32 AM As an IT professional I would suggest you consider bethere.co.uk or plus.net instead of BT for your internet service.
Also make sure you order your phone line and hassle BT regularly, 9/10 of all of the new installs/moves we do are delayed as a direct result of BT.
ovationgroup 21-06-2008, 02:49 PM Give InboundTele.com a call (number on their site) as I have a hosted telecom system with them which is designed for start up businesses - saved me a fortune on line rental, etc, (didn't need to get an extra line) and I also have an option for callers to listen to my opening times and directions when they call in - without disturbing me as I am busy with customers in the shop and people kep ringing up just to ask that - it only costs me £40 a month?
Rothlad 21-06-2008, 03:47 PM You could try www.keyfonics.com , they're based in Sheffield. You get 1000 minutes included for £15 a month and it includes voicemail , music on hold etc.Even if I had to use more than the 1000 minutes which I don't then calls are only 1.25 per minute, not sure about calls to mobiles but I think they are about 8p a minute.Only being using a couple of months and my bill is down by nearly 70%! It's miles cheaper than BT and quicker too. All you need is a broadband connection.
Lotti 30-06-2008, 12:48 PM Sorry it's taken so long for me to get back and say thanks to everyone. Your advice is much appreciated!
Blacksheep 05-07-2008, 07:39 PM Steer clear of BT.
Slow response rate.
Call centres that close at 13:00 on Saturday.
No instructions as how to set up BT fusion on your PC.
Broadband doesn't connect right.
It took them 5 weeks to get a live line in to our place.
No sim card in the phone they sent so could not connect it to the base station.
Then they have the cheek to ask for payments
They're Terrible.

It does depend who you get and where you are, some of those problems aren't really BT's fault. They're not always much use, but then again who is.

moneyman 16-07-2008, 08:33 PM I wouldn't touch talktalk.
Everyone I've come across who has mentioned them has only said bad things. One guy I know is always on the phone to them trying to sort his problems out!!!!
Lotti 18-07-2008, 03:22 PM Thanks Moneyman - everything's getting noted! lol
moneyman 21-07-2008, 10:34 PM Sorry to change the subject, but I see you have a dalmation. How are they? Are they good with children generally? I know they need a lot of exercise.
We have a 6 and 1 year old (children) and were considering a dog. I know there are a lot of Dalmations in homes.
moneyman 21-07-2008, 10:35 PM When I say in homes, I meant dogs homes wanting rehoming.
