The theme to Twin Peaks just came on during my random play. There's no way I'm getting to sleep. Do any songs have this effect on you?

Could be worse it could've been tales of the unexpected.

The sound of Chris Martins' out-of-tune voice has the same effect on me every time I hear his warblings. Why people can't tell he can't sing and Coldplay are so popular is a mystery to me.

Tales of the Unexpected <shudder>

And Pink Floyd's The Wall, or Another Brick, whatever it's called, seriously creepy song (for me).

Exit Music (For a Film) is fairly sinister.

Henryk Gorecki's Symphony Of Sorrowful Songs (Symphony Number 3), 2nd Movement is spine-chilling. If I were to hear this in the dark of night I'd probably have to turn it off.

Yet it's beautiful (like pretty flowers around a gravestone perhaps). The soprano vocal is stunning, somewhere between a scream and a plea, the lyric derived from a message written on the wall of a Gestapo cell during the second world war.

The movement ends by way of a sustained A major chord which seems to go on almost forever. It leaves one listening intently, caught up in the horror (and yet strange beauty) of the moment.

The theme from Phantasm. The special effects in this movie are laughable by today's standards, but it's one of the few older horror movies that still scares me.

Yeah, that is good, the way it builds. Reminds me of one of my favourite ever songs. I've posted a link to this song about 3 times.

And I'm going to do it again.

Neurosis - Stones From the Sky. Please, persevere with it. The ending is incredible.
