rubydazzler 11-04-2005, 12:57 AM Another fun evening at Trippet's playing board games, drinking good wine, and listening to music?
Great sounds from EmanGrooving and others ... you can dance, drink or play ...if you have a favourite game, you can bring it with you ...
Can Andy, King of Connect4 retain his crown??? Or will it be snatched away by a surprise contender? Will Phan be there to reprise his deft origami surprises ...? or Jamie and Yodameister be there playing serious chess ... ?
I'll be there to meet and greet from 8pm ... so come on down! All *welcome*
ruby
BrainThrust 11-04-2005, 01:00 AM Any game?
Twister anyone? :heyhey: :heyhey: :heyhey: :heyhey:
In all seriousness, might turn up, probably gameless.
If anyone knows how to play Gin Rummy i'll have a game though...
Wilf
I shall see you there Ruby. Not sure I'll be able to find my competitive streak by then though...
I think someone should make sure there's a 'Twister' there just so's we can watch BT :P
Yodameister 11-04-2005, 12:23 PM Card games is a good idea.
What games do people know?
Knockout whist is usually good with a group.
Sevens is quite good too.
Poker playing for matches or counters or whatever is good too (though possibly of dubious legality in a public bar)
MTheo 11-04-2005, 02:54 PM i play no limit texas hold em poker....but obviously have to work around the `no limit' bit or me and my mates get carried away. haha.
i may pop down..its a bit of a rush for me to get there. i get home at 6 and its a fair treck.
How about strip Poker? With Sian and Ruby as the strippers... Lol..
No offense intended ladies.

Oh Rich, you are a charmer aren't you!
sdb123 11-04-2005, 07:32 PM I suppose this is everyone's revenge for the Sunday meets at the Dev Cat (cos I know everyone doesn't like the place) :suspect:
I'm sure you have them here cos you know I won't attend :P

Looks like he's got us rumbled!
rubydazzler 11-04-2005, 11:27 PM Dee, Sunday at the Dev Cat is a great evening but Wednesday night at Trippet's there's just a variety of things to do ... it makes for a different type of evening ... one that I like.
Give it a go ... come on down!! you know you want to really ... :)
ps - not "everyone" there were only 8 of us there last week!
rubydazzler 12-04-2005, 08:17 PM BUMP!
hope this is allowed, just bumping it to the top again ... otherwise Sian and myself will be sitting there by ourselves ...
and we're not used to that happening :D
Yodameister 12-04-2005, 08:19 PM Don't worry Ruby, I'm coming and I know of at least 3 others who have succumbed to my powers of persuasion.
I may even download some backgammon rules!
josh_sheff 12-04-2005, 09:39 PM I may drag myself down as i have now recovered from doing some exercise for a change on sunday :)
msbehavin 12-04-2005, 10:02 PM I may go if Joshy baby is going. Haven't had anyone to torment at the last few meets....:heyhey:
josh_sheff 12-04-2005, 10:13 PM Ah i may be even more tempted to go if some msb turns up :P
sparklesista 13-04-2005, 03:24 AM I doubt I'm going to be able to make it to this Wednesday either :(
I've not been feeling 100% so it's prob best that I give it a miss.
Hope you all have fun though (not too much fun without me of course ;) )
Sparkles x x
duffman 13-04-2005, 10:01 AM Duffman has only got £9.66 in the bank for the month so will have to give everything a miss for a while, Oh No!!!!!!
rubydazzler 13-04-2005, 07:09 PM awww! nevvie, and you've been practising too!! never mind, another time maybe ... ;)
sparkle we'll miss you ... and Deejay and any others who can't make it .... *sobs*
and for those who ARE coming down ... cya later
BrainThrust 13-04-2005, 07:25 PM Likewise, due to cashflow, BrainThrust cannot afford to eat for a bit. This does mean i'm unlikely to be attending this evening, as buses are extortionate.
I think I need a job, any offers for a dedicated, innovative and dynamic 21 year old with good qualifications and a perfectionist attitude?
I'm kidding, no seriously, I need a job.
Wilf
rubydazzler 13-04-2005, 07:54 PM wrong thread BT!!! :) best of luck finding one though ...
msbehavin 13-04-2005, 07:57 PM Have fun without me folks. Not going to be attending due to smallest member of family having sore knee/possible torn ligament from PE on Monday this week. A riveting afternoon was spent waiting around the Children's Hospital and I am now at her beck and call for the rest of the evening....
(where's that wine????)

Yes another time Auntie! It gives me more time to practise to become connect 4 champion
sdb123 13-04-2005, 10:54 PM Well I popped in for an hour..
Won Sian at Connect 4 (on the 2nd attempt). Met new faces (Kristian, BoroughGal, E-man Groovin and another one whos name escapes me :? )
The other alcoholics are still down there ;)

Sian and Kristian are there? :suspect: So who's here moderating us? :o :P Let's riot!
*Runs and turns over a chair*
We Moderators are never far away.....:)
Just like The Terminator, we're out here, we cannot be bargained with, we cannot be reasoned with, we feel no remorse, pity or fear.
And we have no word for 'fluffy' :)
So Tracie, tidy that chair up..... :D

Grrr.... And I'd had gotten away with it if it wasn't for you pesky mods! :P
msbehavin 13-04-2005, 11:15 PM Yayyyyy! Good try though Tracie!!!
Joe even came in and restored an air of calm and common sense to our desecration of the 'whats near your pc' thread (dammit!)
<--thinks will never be calm and sensible enough to be a moderator and should ask Geoff for retraction of her e-mail in response to his 'daytime moderator' thread...:heyhey:
<----'accidentally' steps on Joe's toes as goes away from post
Takes out my little black book and notes down certain names.... :suspect:
MSB - when haven't I been a model of tact and decorum? I'll ALWAYS try and return threads to dignity, no matter what the desecration!
Let's just say that I provide a strategically placed bath-towel for the less sophisticated postings.... :)
msbehavin 13-04-2005, 11:32 PM Can't wait till they get back and tell us all how the game of naked Twister went...
Oops! Sorrreeee - am getting mixed up with the La Chambre thread!:heyhey:
Kristian 14-04-2005, 07:29 AM Well, I had a lovely time last night! Slightly marred by the fact that I woke up at 5:30 on the sofa, with a half-eaten pizza next to me!
If I'd been told 24 hours ago, I would be sat in a wine bar attempting to understand the rules of 'Old Maid', I wouldn't have believed it. Fun nevertheless! :D
Nice to put names to faces! Will try to get to one of the Sunday meets soon!
K x
Sorry So So Sorry I didnt make it as I had a really bad day so therefore didnt want to go and spread my misery around so I stayed home and bored the people in chat for a couple of hours.
They were really kind though.
Sorry again.
Whens the next one?
Yodameister 14-04-2005, 03:44 PM Another great meet.
Great company (Ruby will provide with details of attendees from her "register") games (some better than others - Andy will furnish you with games played....and results!
great music, and a chilled out and relaxed atmosphere, you can't ask for much more on a Wednesday night.
boyface 14-04-2005, 03:49 PM Is this every week? I may trundle down next time, sounds a good laugh
What kind of tunes are played?
BoroughGal 14-04-2005, 10:03 PM I had a lovely night, thanks to everyone for making us feel so welcome - Yoda, Sian, MTheo, Jamie, Ruby, Deejay, Andy, E Man Groovin, Rachel69 (didn't manage to talk to ya!) and everyone else (sorry guys, I remembered all THOSE names, I'm stuggling to remember them ALL!). Hope we're welcome next time. xx
Notice how I've edited my post....! I was drunk (again) when I posted last night, remembered a lot more names today (although I must confess the post's may have jogged my memory an ickle bit...)
And where's Jamie come from? Is that someone's REAL name??
sdb123 14-04-2005, 10:05 PM Oh thats fine! I was invisible again  :P

The reality is Duffman was just scared of losing at Connect Four.
Unfortunatly I have lost the results sheet! However, I do remember that one of the cards in "Animal Snap" looked just like Tracie's giraffe
MTheo 14-04-2005, 10:24 PM jamie werent there?? unless i missed sumat lol

Last week we all turned up so early that the meet had to start off in E-man's car. The barman was in another pub enjoying a pint
rubydazzler 14-04-2005, 11:06 PM I can't stop laughing now .. yah shame we didn't all have Forum Tshirts ... the first forum meet to be held in a stationary vehicle!!! captured on film!!
Well if Andy lost the paper dunno what to say .. the "register" was on there too (ruby tries to become Edd for a moment) well, Andy, BoroughGal, Deejay, Feargal, Josh_Sheff, Kristian, M Theo, Raychul69 and her friend, Sian, YodaMeister, Rubydazzler, and EManGroovin - although he was actually working, he did have time for a game of dominoes with us. If I've omitted any names, it's cos you were invisible!
Once again, Forummers prove they're all party animals and also fearsome competitors ... that game of Donkey was terrifying!! and I lost .. you can all point and chant Donkey, Donkey next time you see me!!!
Thanks to Trippets for providing the space and the complimentary crispy things ... and not minding us moving all the tables and chairs around the room ... :D
