This is your chance to get out keep fit and socialise, no excuses!

My Job is Athletics Development Officer for Sheffield. To get all you inactive people moving again i have organised a series of jogging groups accross Sheffield.

You can come along and walk or jog its upto you, there will be two or three coaches there to help you on your way. We will work to your standard.

The sessions are free and take place at the following places:

Tuesday - Concord Park 6.00pm - meet at leisure centre

Thursday - Hillsborough Park 6.00 - meet at leisure centre.

Is it ok for a overweight lady with a weak back from a slipped disc last year to jog ???? I want to get rid of some weight but all exercise other than swimming seems to aggravate my back!!

Would love to attend at Graves Tennis and Leisure if meetings were Mondays or Fridays - work the other evenings!!

Keep me posted if you think this exercise would help me

I'd be interested in joining a group too... I used to jog but it gets boring on your own :P Not sure which session would be nearest to me... I shall consult a map or a Sheffield native later :D

The groups have been going for the last two weeks, so they are starting to get established.

These groups are for everyone and we cater for all abilities. There is no problem with people walking at least you will be doing something, which is the important thing.

Hi Simon,

Thanks!

There have been a few requests for a group to start in Graves Park. I will get onto it this week ans sort it out.

thanks for the replies let me know if there are any other jogging groups out there that we could tap into?

I am meeting a group next week that want to set up daytime jogging groups for women only. Is there any demand for this?

Yes the groups are still running at Concord and Hillsborough.

There are always at least two workers there so the people at the back and front are always looked after.

The route is also a loop so your never far away from the leisure centre.

I am hoping to get a new group set up during the day from Wisewood school

Hi all,

Just been reading all these posts on jogging.
If a group starts up at Graves Leisure Centre, then I'd be interested too. But I'm a busy lass so may not be able to make it, depends on the day and time.
Keep me posted.
