'cheap' and 'decent' from a highstreet store does not exist. but most places on london road would be fine.

I tend to use ebuyer for all my computer needs (and have built a fair few PCs at a great price from there) They have 250Gb SATA drives from £28 and up.

Buy online. Ebuyer and scan.co.uk are reputable and I've never had a problem (or nothing tremendous) and delivery is prompt. Ebuyer also do free delivery (up to 5 days, but usually 2-3) for orders over £49.99.

Get yourself the biggest drive you can for the money! Most of the high street shops order in bulk from online sources, so you're just paying for their margin anyway.

Why not?

For a large number of gadgets if you don't buy online these days you're just ripping your own arm off.

PC World < The Real Computer Shop on Ecclesall Road.

I wouldn't trust small computer shops like them as far as I could throw them, OK they know their stuff, PC World staff just sell it, they don't get paid enough to know anything about it, but the small shops' warranties are legally about as much use as used Khazi paper.

Cheap enough. Ebuyer's cheapest 250GB drive is

£29 - but you have P&P to pay as well.

I got a 320gb seagate drive for £30 from cbc computers in town, although they did me that as a deal as they'd run out of 250gb's and gave me that for the same price.

Not in Sheffield - it's an on-line retailer....not what you want I think ?

The drive from CEX is about as cheap as you'll get from a local shop.

Incorrect.

This little shop is an excellent one, and refreshingly honest and decent about warranties.

Which little shop?
Edit: never mind go it.
Rich's always had a problem with big companies, I personally don't get it but he's obviously had bad experiences with little shops in the past.
